I just posted on a Diary over at Kos that I'm avoiding all arguements over who would be best to have at the top of our ticket, Gore or Clark. I'll repeat it here. I want Clark as our next President while some others (like you) want Gore. Neither is in the race yet and both have a great deal to offer America. We would be blessed to have either man as President. I support Clark running. I support Gore running. If they both run we can all have some very intense but hopefully good spirited debates over which of them we prefer for the top slot and why.
Then if we are lucky one of them will actually become the Democratic nominee.
Meanwhile lets do everything we can to stop Global Warming and keep the U.S. out of war with Iran. So to close in keeping with that sentiment:
Let's keep our Cool. Peace.

Gore is the only candidate I'd choose over Clark. No one deserves the presidency more, since it was stolen from him 6 1/2 years ago.

21. As a practical matter, Clark/Gore, since the stunning cowardice and fear-mongering of the Cons |
|
have had their impact on the mass subconscious, and their vicious massacres of innocents in the middle east has indeed created a real desire for vengeance and a real threat, and having someone at the top of the ticket with international policy and military credentials makes sense.
A second factor is that Gore was consistently trashed by the Corporatist Media in 2000 and some of the stigma remains, but the Clinton/Gore years, with him as VP, now look like Eden, compared to the present.
A third factor is Gore's focus on saving the planet as a habitat for humans. Most people realize that the time for action is now, if not years ago, but the fear shit still makes that second place and more of an "and also" add-on rather the top of the list.
The fourth is just the persona stuff. Gore still comes across as stiff (doing better since he quit politics and isn't being strangled by DLC handlers), while Clark speaks with straight to the core of things with rapid fire insight. No, "um, ah, er, well," in his vocabulary.
Just my take, others may see these two differently, but they would be the ideal pair if there is to be any hope at all.

28. Clark doesn't have the political heft/resume for the top of the ticket...yet. |
|
i doubt if the average american knows what he's done through his career, or could name a single thing from his resume.
Gore is by far the Democratic party's best shot at winning the big chair in '08.
i just hope he decides to run- but i'm having my doubts...
the "best"(for lack of a better word) thing that could happen in that regard might be some type of global-warming related cataclysmic event happening over this summer season. not that i'm cheering one on- just saying that if something major were to occur- it might finally fully waken the public consciousness.
