These are responses to a thread about Michael Moore stashing a copy of "SiCKO" in Canada:

Again, Lumpy Riefenstahl shows his over-inflated sense of self-purpose by thinking the gubmint would seize his little pack of lies and distortion.

Re: we're all Canadians, we're all in the same boat, we sink or swim together and we have to take care of each other And how many cross the border for health care because of long queues?

Canadians have a core value belief that says, we're all Canadians, we're all in the same boat, we sink or swim together and we have to take care of each other
If he's in the boat, it'll definitely sink.

Thousands, from what I've read.

I'd like to know how many Cannucks die every year waiting on medical care? Bet that's a stat that you're not likely to see on the 6:00 news in the great white north.....

If mr moore is so worried about having his rights violated—then he should move to Canada where he can be assured his rights will not be violated. Of course when it is determined that his OBESITY is self-induced then he will be pushed to the back of the health care priority list and he can have Canada to bash thus giving him an excuse to come back to the USA. All that traveling should burn up some calories and possible calm your FAT mouth mikey!!!!

According to the Toronto Globe and Mail, a Cardiac patient has a ten times greater chance dying waiting than on the operation table.

If Moore really believes the crap he sells, shouldn’t he have simply moved to another country by now? If his civil liberties were really at a threat- wouldn’t it make sense to launch his campaign from elsewhere in the world?

Why doesn’t this mega sized donut puncher just renounce the US and do his deeds from another place?

Answer- he doesn’t believe in his words, so much as the money he makes from it. He’s capitalizing, not actually having a legitimate complaint.

Publicity stunt. That sad thing is that it works on the sheeple.

That they do, and at the same time taxing ordinary canadians at a rate no one would believe: high income taxes, plus the GST and provincial sales tax (14% total) on every dollar spent. With the extra added bonus for the government: people are forced to remain in canada after retirement and continue to pay taxes to canada because they have no portable health care. It should happen to Michael Moore, it really should, and he should choke on it.

You nailed it. I wonder if all the Democrats pushing a Government take over of the health care industry will troop in to view the film like they did for Fraudenhit 911.

Ooooh, but there is a "chill wind" blowing. All the leftists are being silenced; their free speech crushed under the Neo-Cons jack-booted heels!!!!

Ah, man, I can't do it, not even as a joke. All I hear is loud mouthed, narcissistic, jack-a$$ed lefties spouting off. We can't get them to shut up, and all they do is say they are being silenced. They could carve their message in the moon, for the whole world to see, and then complain about the right trying to silence them when the sun came up.

Conspiracy theorists actually believe what they say. On the other hand, Moore knows he’s a liar. He was a liar when he made Roger and me, he was a liar when he made Bowling for Columbine, he was a liar when he made F-911, and he’s a liar about Sicko.

His only attempt at legitimate Hollywood movie making was a miserable failure called Canadian Bacon which cost more to make than it ever earned. Even that movie was based on bashing the USA.

The fat SOB piece of garbage is building up a whole heap of bad juju for himself.

4. The idiots aren't realizing that their GOP brethren actually support this film and agree with much
of what it is saying. Sure, the asshats like Frist who are heavily invested in the sector don't agree, but that's not the average slob, regardless of political party.

They'll start realizing that this issue crosses party lines eventually...it's just MM that gets their piggy little noses out of joint...

7. Well, I looked it up
nothing they said on that thread has any real root in truth.

The long wait times are for ELECTIVE surgeries (about 50-60 days). There is an average of a 10 days wait for semi-urgent care. There are some problems with doctor and nurse shortages, but that is not a problem inherent to the system (just to the management of the existing funds).

As a heart patient, it concerns me if someone who needs the surgery cannot get it. It looks to me that the diagnostic stuff takes a bit (the stress tests, etc.), but the same problem exists here, as well. It takes me a few months to get an appointment with my cardiologist, and I have insurance. Not a big deal because I do a lot of interaction through his office staff (prescriptions, etc.). I know if I had an "event", he'd be there.

I would imagine it is much the same as in Canada. There the doctors are private businesses, so they see the same patients over and over. It's not a drive-through one-size-fits-all situation like many Americans seem to believe.

The bottom line....they ALL have health care. 15-20% of Americans do not.
