Right Wing Watch - Rush Limbaugh Explains the Attorney Scandal
Edited on Thu Jun-14-07 09:27 AM by bryant69
Rush Limbaugh has a theory as to why we are so upset at these 8 attorneys were fired, why we are making such a stink about it. It doesn't involve being upset that the questionable legality of it, or at the mean spirited way this Administration does things. Rather apparently we are trying to make it easier to commit voter fraud.

"It's simply to discredit any investigation that happens after the '08 election, because the Democrats can go back and say, "Well, look what the Bush administration was doing firing eight US attorneys and so forth trying to protect themselves, blah, blah, blah." They're using everything. They're trying to create a firestorm here where no crime was been committed, no impropriety whatsoever, and they're trying to make the American people think that there's corruption all over the Department of Justice so that after the '08 elections any investigation that might be undertaken, or allegation made, about vote fraud involving Democrats will be discredited because of this controversy now. That's my theory. I think that's how they think about this."

Of course in order to parse this you have to look at election fraud the way a republican looks at it. When there are systematic errors put forward by Republican Secretaries of State and Voting companies, that is a conspiracy theory and not worth considering. When a Black or Hispanic person votes, on the other hand, well we need to be right there making sure they have the right to vote (They feel the same way about tax fraud by the way; wealthy white people defrauding the Government out of millions - not worth investigating. Poor guy skimming a couple hundred bucks - Throw the book at him).

2. As usual Rush is RIGHT on.
Thank God we have people like Rush to tell us what to think. Otherwise, we would have to believe our lyin' eyes.

4. not surprising
I too have often wondered about the disconnect that so many wingers have between what they say and what they do.

6. "I think that's how they think about this."
Rush is always speaking for the Democrats. It's really what his act boils down to. 'The Democrats my friends blah blah blah... If they get their way blah blah blah... Liberals think blah blah blah...'

7. Rush is correct about investigations being discredited
However, the shoe is going to be on the other foot.

If we win the White House in 2008, any investigation into a Republican - even at the lowly level of Town Dogcatcher in Bumpkinville - will be greeted by howls of protest and claims of "partisan revenge" and "partisan witchhunt."

And, the media will eat it up... "Joe Republican claims the US attorney investigation into his alleged sexual abuse of minors is a partisan witch-hunt. Are the mere six video tapes of various abuse incidents turned over to the state by registered Republicans enough evidence to proceed, or is it indeed political revenge perpetrated by those dastardly Democrats?"

8. I don't doubt that you are right
Look at how hard they have tried to innoculate Bush against the Democrats investigating him "If the Democrats win you are going to see investigation after investigation after investigation" and so on.
