White House on Libby: President will not intervene

WASHINGTON (CNN) — White House Deputy Press Secretary Dana Perino issued the following statement following the news that a judge has order I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby to report to prison to serve his sentence while his attorneys appeal his case.

“Scooter Libby still has the right to appeal, and therefore the president will continue not to intervene in the judicial process. The president feels terribly for Scooter, his wife and their young children, and all that they’re going through.”

WH: Screw Valerie Plame and her family, poor Scooter!

4. I can't get any flag waver to answer my question
If there no underlying crime, why did scooter HAVE to lie?

Well lets surmise:

- If Clinton told the truth nothing would have happened
- If scooter told the truth cheney would be in jail

And based on conservative spin its just fine and dandy to lie to a federal prosecutor. My fucking liberal heart bleeds for the scoot, scoot.

14. Why are you thinking?
Edited on Thu Jun-14-07 03:41 PM by Mabus
You know that hasn't been allowed since 9/11! Damn radical. You and your kind. Always wanting the truth. Always wanting to know about facts. What's wrong with you people! Why are you still thinking! There's nothing to see here. Now, move along. Go do something important. Go sign up for your local "Free Paris Hilton" meetup. She's in jail you know. Where are your priorities?

17. You are right My Dear
I recall back in November 2002, a 20 something chickenhawk told me I should join the Army to prove my love of country since I didn't think we should go to Iraq. I told him I did 24 years and asked him to share his military experiences. He said he hadn't served "yet." Being the radical liberal, I've been thinking ever since.

23. As if he has the right to intervene at his pleasure!
What a moran he is. I guess he can't read, or we could point him to Articles I-III of the Constitution.

25. Oh, I think he's up on Article II
He uses the Constitution to suit his purposes...when it favors him...he uses it...when it doesn't...he redefines it

...all of the other covert agents that were impacted by the intentional disclosure of Valerie Plame's identity AND, most of all, for the impact the disclosure had on the national security of our country.

18. How about all the people killed because
Valerie Plame's cover was blown. And the arms and ammo got thru to terrorist. And the overcover agents overseas who got killed because of it....How about their wives and family....

Did you hear Toesing's husband Digeneric (generic what he is) say Libby should not have been found guilty anyway and that the president should pardon him. He said what was he found guilty of.....Is this man senile or what. A lie under oath by a democrat deserves to be prosecuted and/or impeached. A lie under oath by a republican deserves to be let go.

24. OMG. Can you believe the NERVE of the WH issuing this statement??
He feels frigging SORRY for Scooter???? A man convicted of perjury and obstruction of justice gets his sympathy while Valerie Plame and her Brewsetr Jennings colleagues can basically go screw off. This smarmy little jerk hasn't had the decency or courage to face the American people to answer questions about the White House role in the Plame case, but he issues a statement today in support of Scooter. My head is about to blow right the f* off my shoulders.
