I don't have a problem with From as a guest on a show, but I'd probably rather hear him interviewed by Mike Malloy, or Thom Hartmann. :evilgrin:
I think that the righties(to use the braindead ed schultz term) on Thom's show are taken down a peg quite well, and in a civil and polite way. He doesn't see the need to refute every RW talking point, he respects the listeners intelligence, IMO. At least thats how I feel about his show. I'd have no problem if the Rahm Emmanuels and Al Froms would actually debate the issues, but they cede the right wing frames at every opportunity. Having someone dismantle their mistrutths on the air in a live format would be a great thing, but I'm not holding my breath.

Lionel for awhile. When Donahue was presented with criticism about anything Catholic his response was to bash gays, transgendered people and blacks. He's been slapped down for bashing Jews so he stays away from that (although I am sure anti Jewish hatred lives in his heart). No reasoning just bashing for bashing's sake.

Lionel claims to be a retired Catholic but yet feels there is an open season on the Catholic Church. If there is it is the Church's own doing by trying to sweep the priest misdeeds under the carpet for so long.

Lionel did NOTHING to challenge Mr Donahue's anti gay and anti black bigotry.

and I'm very happy I did. Our local AAR affiliate has Stacey Taylor in the mornings, which I really enjoy, particularly because Scott and Craig are on there with him. The affiliate, KLSD 1360 (yep, that's it's call sign), also broadcasts all 3 hours of Thom Hartmann. JUST IN CASE, however, I'm very glad that Sirius rebroadcasts the 2nd two hours of Thom's show at 10 PM, right after Malloy.

20. Lionel does not belong on Air America

He is ignorant and proud of his lack of education. Now, understand, education is not a matter of schooling. Randi Rhodes is not a college graduate. She has, however, through her own effort and initiative become a knowledgeable and educated person. I don't always agree with Randi, but her programs are interesting and well informed.

Lionel just gets on the radio and spouts his opinion of the moment -- without doing any meaningful research. He has nothing to offer listeners other than his annoying personality which is marked primarily by his unwarranted ly high opinion of himself. He offers his silly opinions on unimportant matters. He is a bore.

It is a shame that he takes up valuable air time on what claims to be mainstream progressive radio. Frankly, I think his IQ is too low for the listener base that Air America needs to appeal to.

Bill O'Reilly and his ilk are already on the air. We don't need more of the kind of right-wing blather that Lionel and Bill O'Reilly offer. We need more people like Thom Hartmann and Randi Rhodes.

I'm also not enthusiastic about Mark Germain who is on in the afternoon in L.A. He is not totally unbearable, but he is rather boring and silly -- not as bad as Lionel who is the worst -- but not someone I think to turn on the radio to hear.
