Who's your favorite right-wing pundit/guest?
I personally like Pat Buchanan. He gives it straight up -- one of the only Right-Wingers I see on this show that seems principled, even if I disagree with everything he says, he makes no apologies.

5. McLaughlin never struck me as right-wing.
I actually have an alarm on my cellphone to remind me that McLaughlin is on at 5:30 on Saturdays, lest I forget.

I love that show.

9. He's an old-fashioned conservative. I really love his show, too.

Been watching it for decades! We're lucky, it's on here in NYC at 11:30 am on Sundays (unless it's moved because of sports stuff).

Edited to add: They have a video or audio podcast of the show — it's available on iTunes (just search for McLaughlin)!

after decades of watching his show.

back when he was a truth-telling "maverick" and before he went over the neocon edge. Pundits--I like Pat B. and George Will.

12. Take it easy.
If you believe every right-winger is your enemy, you've gone over the deep edge.

People take what they need from their political affiliations, and suppress/rationalize the rest. Just like religion.

Most folks are moderates that lean one way or another.

You need them to win elections.

34. I agree with you about Buchanan.
He is a Paleo-con, not a neo-con. He does not march in lock step and robotically repeat the talking points ad nauseum.

He actually makes sense. He is logical. He is reality based. He can carry on a conversation without running out of answers and having to point to Clinton as a diversion.

When he and Bill Press had a show on MSNBC, They agreed that Bush should NOT start his war in Iraq. When contentious viewpoints were in vogue, MSNBC could't have a lefty and a righty who were agreeable, so they canned that show and brought in Keith. I missed that show, but after three days, I was hopelessly addicted to Countdown.
