But over in Manhattan...Manhattan Sailing School at the North Harbor by the WTC (really beautiful setting.) I didn't know of anything offered here in the neighborhood, and my calendar is a little wonky...only allowed this one during my June.

Oh, I am already addicted, just thinking about it. I've been looking forward to this for a long long time! Someday I want a boat, yes, and even dream of living aboard and cruising in open water, but I will be elated to even get started on the process, and hopefully coming away from the weekend with a basic-keelboat-sailing certification. Then I can offer to crew and get some real experience. We'll be learning on J24s, and they look like neat craft!

I know the J-24 folks in Manhattan, although it's been quite a while since I've seen them.

I used to race J-24's all the time up on Long Island Sound primarily. It's a great boat for learning, and still actively raced all over the world. It was truly a revolutionary boat, not so much for the design, but for the one design concept that really brought many people into the sport (like me).:thumbsup:

If you work anywhere convenient to downtown, that's a great way to do some weekday evening racing.:hi:
