Romney defends abortion conversion; Brownback lauded

By STEVE KRASKE
The Kansas City Star

One of the front-runners for the Republican presidential nomination told a crowd of anti-abortion activists today that his previous pro-choice position was a mistake.

“I was wrong,” former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney told a crowd of several hundred at the National Right to Life Conference meeting at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center.

Romney was greeted with polite applause, but when he completed his speech he received a standing ovation. He left without speaking to reporters.

But the most enthusiastic applause was reserved for another presidential contender, U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback of Kansas, who received a standing ovation during his introduction. Brownback has fought abortion throughout his 12-year career in Congress.

“Abortion in America is the great moral crisis of our day,’ he said.

1. Yes, because God forbid the womenfolk have the ability
to choose what they want to do with their bodies. :sarcasm:

5. They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning
Edited on Fri Jun-15-07 02:24 PM by MiniMe
They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning,
No-one you see, is smarter than he,
And we know Flipper, lives in a world full of wonder,
Flying there-under, under the sea!
Everyone loves the king of the sea,
Ever so kind and gentle is he,
Tricks he will do when children appear,
And how they laugh when he's near!
They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning,
No-one you see, is smarter than he,
And we know Flipper, lives in a world full of wonder,
Flying there-under, under the sea!

Sing it out whenever somebody starts talking about Romney

edited because I couldn't remember all the words
