Gore/Obama Ticket 2008
Edited on Fri Jun-15-07 01:38 PM by ls317
A ticket of Al Gore for president and Barack Obama for vice president would create an electricity and enthusiasm that would transform American politics and send shock waves of excitement throughout a world yearning for new American leadership.

With the release of Al Gore’s new book about reason and truth in politics, and the July 7 worldwide concert for global warming, the stage is set for a new era in American politics that would be more exciting than any event since the inaugural of JFK.

Al Gore would bring the most commander-in-chief qualities in the history of presidential candidates with a passion and depth that would lift the hopes and hearts of Americans ready to inaugurate the post-Bush era.

Barack Obama would bring an enthusiasm, idealism and spirit that would make the ticket soar above partisan politics, would rally young people into public service in ways reminiscent of John and Robert Kennedy, and would be the greatest worldwide boost to American leadership for freedom and democracy in many years.

1. Gotta disagree w/ ya, dude ...
... Al has said flat out that he will never accept a VP spot.

Nor should he, especially when he's got so much more experience and world presence than Obama.

This girl's hoping for Gore/Feingold (hell, you've seen my bumper sticker!) :patriot:

6. The OP may have listed Obama/Gore, but the post advocated Gore/Obama.

7. agree
the thread title caught my eyes as backwards at best. I see the subject of the OP has Gore as Pres and Obama as VP, possibly edited after your post.

Seems somewhat doubful it will happen, to me, but I could support a Gore-Feingold ticket.

8. Read the post -- of course there's no way he'd take VP, and he shouldn't
The title of the thread says Obama/Gore, but the post says Gore for president and Obama for vice president. An exciting ticket, indeed. I'd be happy with anyone, as long as Gore is president, but I think Gore/Obama would be a particularly strong ticket (as would Gore/Feingold, who has not ruled out VP).

Run, Al, run.

11. Bingo.
Gore for his experience and environmental concern, and Clark to somehow make some sense out of Iraq and put the military back together again.

3. You mean Gore/Obama
Your subject line is misleading.

I'd prefer Gore/Edwards, although I don't know if Edwards would want to be someone's V.P. running mate again.

19. Really? That's interesting.
I assume you mean that Edwards was asked if he'd be someone's running mate again, and he said yes to that.

Was it specific? I mean did they ask him if he'd do it in general or for some particular presidential candidate?

21. I can't remember what show the clip was on
With all the interviews of the candidates, on various shows (TV and computer) it's hard to remember which one it was. Hell, it could even have been on Bill Maher's show.

The question was "If you don't receive the parties nomination for President, would you consider the number 2 spot?" He said yes.

I remember it because I was surprised.

20. Don't they differ on environmental things like coal??
Also what does Al want to do about health care? Does he want universal healthcare? I don't think Obama does...things like that make me wonder about Obama.
