Can someone explain the difference between telling the Duke lacrosse players
that they deserved what they got for hiring a stripper and telling a gay man that he deserved to get attacked for going to a gay bar? I had a cop tell me the second thing once. I just don't see a difference between some of us saying we don't like hiring strippers so what are clearly victims of an out of control prosecutor are to be scorned and saying I don't like the fact you went to a gay bar so you deserve to be attacked. Either the law applies to all of us equally or it doesn't. Shouldn't it really be that simple?

1. I don't think a person should be attacked for going to a gay bar
nor do I think a person should be prosecuted for a crime they did not commit.

Did the same jerk cop that said that to you arrest the Duke Lacrosse players?

2. Wear a short skirt, deserve to be raped.
Is this post inspired by a bonehead conversation you had? Saying the Duke guys deserved it, saying a gay-bar patron deserved it, saying a woman in a short skirt deserved it, can all be lumped together with my garbage and fired into the sun.

Stupid is as stupid does. It is that simple.

Cheers.

3. There have been two threads so far that I have seen saying the first
one is currently on the front page (the one on paying legal bills).

4. Regarding the latter---
I think the OP took a wrong exit, if you know what I mean (I know--deleted, hope you see this beforehand).

5. I don't think assault, murser, corruption, and rape are valid prices to pay for
indulging a vice, so no, I can't explain it either.

7. The courage of loyalty
I think that when a person decides to take a stand on an issue, or to defend a person - they have to be willing to go down with them, right or wrong.

Or stand up just as strongly if they find out they misplaced their loyalty.

The Duke players were wrongly accused. It was a tragic mistake. Those who stood by the accuser do not need to apologize for that loyalty. They do need to admit they were wrong and stand as strongly beside the Duke players now, because the Duke players were the victims this time.

8. A lot of anger is misplaced; anger at the accuser, who is weak and possibly in need
of help, anger at the accused, who are vilified for being failry typical college boys albeit with money, but precious little at the power-hungry, corrupt, and deceitful "people's" attorney who let this all get way out of hand.

My anger, disdain, and contempt are saved entirely for him. I hope he rots and never works again.
