Poll question: Which do you, personally, find more impairing while YOU are driving/passenger? |
|
Everyone may not have experienced all these categories, or been in a car with someone in each category, but which have you personally experienced and because of your experience find personally more impairing to your driving or the driver while you were a passenger? I am sure there are other choices, but these seem the most commonly discussed.
I have almost had an accident changing music, and while driving being very tired, so I chose those for me.

I cannot stand the idea that someone might object to my finishing the NYT crossword or Sudoku while driving a car. Shame on them. I mean, I BOUGHT the car, so it is up to me how to drive it, and fuck everyone else.
ahhhh. I loved channeling GOPers.

While driving nuts have it read that you are a Republican.
When you are being friendly have it read that you are a Democrat.

11. (Iowa) I nearly got hit one day on a two lane highway |
|
by a guy who crossed the center line while he was reading his bible while driving down the road at 65 mph. It was an old VW van and he had a large book open on his steering wheel. I clearly saw "BIBLE" in big letters as I headed off road.

8. I find everything about driving distracting |
|
I watch the road and stay out of the way , but with all the traffic and the crosswalks and everyone else on a cell phone everytime I get in my car it is a risk I may never get out alive .
These days you need two heads , perhaps three just to keep ahead of all the dangers . I hate cars and driving now more than ever and I used to enjoy trips , not anymore .

9. I Voted OTHER...The MOST Impairing |
|
The MOST IMPAIRING thing on the road is when there is a commercial on the radio that has police or ambulance sirens going off!! That should be outlawed. You'll be driving, then hear sirens and be looking around frantically only to discover it's a commercial on the radio TRYING to GET YOUR ATTENTION.

Applying makeup (1 votes, 2%) - Ah...NO!! I rarely wear any at all!
Reading/Writing (2 votes, 4%) - Not hardly!
Changing music (1 votes, 2%) - I wait for a red light to change cd's.
Dealing with kids (2 votes, 4%) - Way past that, thank gawd!!
Talking to passenger (5 votes, 10%) - I rarely have any but it wouldn't distract me.
Drunk/impaired chemically (10 votes, 21%) - Never! Learned my lesson.
:bluebox: Tired (6 votes, 13%) - I try not to but have done it, out of necessity.
Other - I don't watch movies while I drive. ;)
