Charleston, S.C. - Admittedly, information booths are a staple in this city of tourism. This is not one of those staples. This booth in Marion Square is titled "Talk to an Iraqi."
Behind it is Haider Hamza, and he wants to know your perspective on the war in Iraq. He already has his perspective, working first in Saddam Hussein (news - bio) 's Information Ministry, then joining with the U.S. military as an embedded journalist after the invasion. Of course, he lived the war as an Iraqi citizen with his family and friends...
"So the only perspective I was missing was the U.S. civilian perspective-with the U.S. people," Hamza said. So he moved to New York.
"They would all say , 'oh we marched against the war, we didn't vote for Bush. We're very sorry, it's not us, it's the people in the South and Midwest.'" So here he is, listening to our perspective.

What will happen down the road, he wont speculate, but says bombs aren't his major worry. "People think of it in terms of war bombs. That can end. That won't drag on forever, but the hatred over there has grown so much that it's going to take year and years for it to end.
