This makes me so damn sick. This party has looted the treasury and NOW wants to act like the Democrats are the heavy spenders.
It makes me so angry because the media runs with this shit unquestioned when it is a bald-faced lie.
>>>snip
CRAWFORD, Texas – President Bush warned Congress on Saturday that he will use his veto power to stop runaway government spending.

"The American people do not want to return to the days of tax-and-spend policies," Bush said in his radio address. (:mad:Wasn't this during the last 6 years? )

The House passed a $37 billion budget for the Homeland Security Department on Friday, but Republicans rallied enough votes to uphold a promised veto from Bush.

The measure – one of several annual spending bills that Congress began to consider this week – exceeds Bush's request for the department by $2.1 billion.

The administration, hoping to appease Republicans who demand fiscal restraint, has pledged to keep overall spending to the level in Bush's proposed budget in February.

11. Why veto now? He hasn't done it before now. He signed all the profligate spending bills.

2. He is a lying hypocrite..Always was, Always will be.
Those that believe him, especially after the past 6 years of lies, tragedy and disgrace, are as bad as he is. I have no more patience for those who support him. They are willfully ignorant and do not deserve to be given any room for grace and understanding at this point.
I just wish the goddamn Dems in Congress would stand up to him and do what they were elected to do!!!!!

4. Bush and Cheney and the rePUKEs have no shame as they gobble
...up the $100 billion in Iraq appropriates by diverting 85% of it to contractors. And, there is no accountability and no audits. Bush will be back to the feeding trough in September asking congress for another $100 billion and another 30,000 troops. Five hundred and fifty billion dollars so far on the Iraq War. Where has the money gone? Wasted!

5. As long as he continues pouring money into the contractor's coffers
He's a hypocrite.

The Democrats should do a thorough review of the federal budget and we'll see just who's wasting money and who's trying to stop it.

6. Personally, I think the Homeland Security needs to be defunded
and de-authorized... what country are we living in Nazi Germany 1940's or the United States who are supposed to be free. That department of thugs are worthless at best and terrorists at worst.

7. I was watching
a little of the proceedings in the House yesterday when it struck me that the RePukes are trying to shift the blame for their excessive spending to the Dem's. One Congressman, I don't recall his name was ranting and raving about how fiscally responsible the RePukes are, bla, bla, bla ad nauseam. Never mind that 2 billion in the bill yesterday that they are whining about included much needed security items.

13. GOP counting on short attention span of the voting public.
They figure if they scream about deficits NOW the voters with remember BIG SPENDING and vote the DEMS out in 08.

Our job is to make damn sure most people know AND REMEMBER when those huge deficits were run up and what party had ALL the power then.

8. The only proper Democratic response to that radio address
"Mr. President, we in the Democratic caucus were about to point out that you like to cut taxes then throw around money like a shipload of drunken sailors on shore leave until the Navy veterans in our ranks pointed out that someone who went AWOL from the Air National Guard wouldn't get that."

9. Problem is, Dems didn't complain when he did it
So its kinda hard to complain now. The time for complaining was when the money was flying out of the treasury so fast, anyone near the door had to duck down. At this point, the Dem party has been complicit. And since we've gotten into the majority, not a thing has changed. Very frustrating.

We should OWN this issue after what Bush has done.

10. Bush means he will VETO any spending that has not been cut
Which would go towards ALL American citizens, in which American citizens have paid into.
Only a chosen few (military industrial complex, big oil, BushBot supporters, etc. etc.) are worthy to be lavished with government spending, according to the little dictator.

12. To make the Democratic Party look bad he has to veto everything
they send to his office. If he signed the bills, which benefit the public it would make the republican chances in 20 worst than they are.

See the approval rating of the congress already. Only because bush has vetoed important bills the democrats passed to serve the public. His administration with the help of the squashed turd rove are doing all they can to scuttle the congress and the MSM jumped right in to help.

I really think there should be some way to indict the media for treason. Because they are acting very very unpatriotic and unAmerican.
