A group of Maine 4th graders had their report on global warming published yesterday in the Portland Press Herald.\

Pending doom: Global warming crisis

A group of fourth-graders in Portland creates a list of priorities to stop global warming.

June 14, 2007

<snip>

Our school study of global warming started with lots of
questions. What is global warming? What is happening now?
What might happen in the future? What can each of us do to
help? Why should we care? What will the future look like?

A small group of students at our school has been researching
and studying the effects of global warming. The evidence and
data we collected is so overwhelming that we have decided to
write about this issue.

We want everyone to help curb Global warming. It truly means
that the Earth is getting warmer. The ocean is warming at such
an alarming rate that the continents are in danger.

Such a warming of the ocean is fuel for more severe hurricanes
such as Katrina. Katrina was only a Category 1 storm when it
crossed Florida. It became a monster storm by feeding off the
extremely warm water in the Gulf of Mexico.

The response from the RW was absolutely ferocious (from the reader's comments)...

Another liberal trash teacher that should be fired for brainwashing, compelling them to be spoon fed one side of the debate with doomsdayism for the paradigm that will control them politically later in life, rather than study both side of the debate and reach their own conclusions. would you care to explain global warming on mars? The liberal left is all about indoctrinating our youth from a very young age, the only way they can retain numbers as they kill off their own through their own policies.
The school system has no place for trash like you, and your school should be embarassed by your employment there. I hope the school makes the right decision and terminates their association with you.

Spoon fed eco brain washing is just what we need for our kids in public schools today!

I wish teachers would quit indoctrinating students with this enviro hogwash!

What sad and manipulative public school exercise in a sadly politically correct state.

<more>

Sad, shocking and humorous commentary from the great scientific minds of the GOP...

1. I love it when they call education "indoctrination."
They never seem to consider the possibility that THEY -- not educators or scientists -- have been "indoctrinated."

5. and survived it! And they only project that it is their own desire
to have control over the "indoctrination."

2. I wrote a message supporting the kids...
...and also calling out the idiots. Wasn't too terribly insulting so maybe it might have a chance of showing up. I read some of that shit and I wanted to scream bloody murder at those fucktards.

7. What really sucks is that we have to destroy the world because of these fuckers
We'll never be able to effectively curb climate change until everything blows up because these assholes won't shut up about things they're too stupid to understand. So we have to go down the drain because of them. And undoubtedly once we do, they'll just shrug it off like "Oh well, I was wrong." I for one intend to not let them get off that easy, if I ever catch any of them in person.

8. One would like to ask them if they see nothing wrong
with pissing in their baths and ice tea alike.

Spewing toxins willy-nilly into the atmosphere is no different but in scale. When several billion people foul the waters, it hardly matters the size of the pool.
