what pushed me down and over even further.

10. Ron Paul would be considerd a RIGHT-libertarian.
But he's HONEST, which makes what he has to say, worth listening to. But an awful lot of people call themselves "libertarians" these days; it's sorta fashionable. But underneath, they're not only RIGHT, but AUTHORITARIAN. Crypto-Fascists!

44. As long as Ron Paul is anti-separation of church & state & wants to put women in jail for getting
abortions, I have trouble buying him as ANY kind of "libertarian".

47. I didn't know that.
If correct, he can no longer be considered a "Libertarian" in my books. But he's brutally HONEST, and for that reason alone, he should be listened to.

49. Thanks for the informative links.
No, Ron Paul is NOT a "Libertarian" as you or I might construe that term. And I stand corrected. But HONESTY trumps almost anything. That includes our attempts to sort people into neat little boxes. I've been doing such "sorting" all my life, and will continue to do so. But I need occasional reminders of its limitations.

8. Here's mine from about 3 years ago:
Economic Left/Right: -7.50
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -4.92

I believe that with tests of this nature, only the FIRST test is really "meaningful". And that should be taken BEFORE reading the rest of the webpage. Otherwise, your perceived self-image might subconsciously "color" your answers.

9. Looks like were all in the same quadrant. here are my scores:
Economic Left/Right: -7.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.26

The only surprise is that I seem to be to the left of Gandhi and more Libertarian than he was. I don't have much use for any of the people found in the first two quadrants.

I was going for -10/-10, but some of the questions have to do with PERSONAL opinions that have no relation to policy, which I find rather stupid.

Edited on Sun Jun-17-07 03:50 AM by Solon
I never did understand the point of buying the same water you get from the tap separately in little plastic bottles. They claim its "mountain spring" or whatever BS they are peddling, but it goes through the same treatment as tap water, so what is the gain?

Not to mention the many residents of areas whose aquifers supply these bottled water companies are having their water being rapidly drained to meet demand, much faster than the hydro cycle can replenish the aquifers.

About what I expected. I'm the diet coke of the left. I didn't look very hard, but was there a scoring system discussed on the page (how far each question moves you on the chart)? I used agree/disagree a lot more than I used strongly agree/strongly disagree.
