An idea that might really help clear up some of the confusion on DU |

Anyone who posts comments or starts threads related to a candidate must disclose if they are a paid consultant or blogger or cyber commando for any particular candidate.

3. Hmmm. Even if it isn't true? I post Gore (RUN AL RUN!!) threads now and then and I'm not paid to. |

but in reality, absolutely NO way to enforce it. The paid shills have no incentive to blow their cover; however, it's fairly easy to spot them.

I can't imagine that someone with an agenda will come right out and say so, especially if they are being paid for it. I mean, if Joe trippi comes on here and says, "I'm Joe Trippi," sure, I'd buy that, but otherwise, just read between the lines.
For the record, the man I most wanted has promised not to run, as he said he wouldn't if elected chairman of the DNC, and the man I most want to run after that has not declared (Al Gore), so count me as just a wait-and-see blogger for now. I have a demanding day job anyhow ;-) .

6. The backlash to the paid blogging trend... |
|
Now I tend to be skeptical of negative reporting of a candidate, and check it out rather than trust anybody's word around here.
I didn't do that last election, and got duped several times.

10. Hell, I'm still waiting for my checks from the Kremlin and Fidel. |
|
Not to mention Ho-Chi Minh.
At least that's what the RW'rs accused me (and many others) of receiving over the years.

11. You mean we'd all have to give our real names? |
|
It's been suggested before; 90% of the reaction hated it. Giving your real name on DU opens you up to malicious actions by freepers.
