That this was the work of the organization that calls itself "Al Qaida in Iraq". Though some might infer that this was the work of our forces, I doubt it.
In the kind of asymetrical war AQiI is waging, performing acts like this, that contribute to the breakdown in the society, are a central strategy.

It is her life. She will be devastated if she hears about this.
But of course what she feels is nothing compared to the victims' terror and the pain of the families involved.
