Jesus God, if you say "booga, booga" long enough, you'll scare yourself, Jane Harmon.
I'm watching a rebroadcast of a subcommitte on terrorism she chairs. I'm just flabbergasted by these people who sit in those chairs and gasp in horrified fasciniation and "tut-tut" about where all those darned icky terraists come from. How are they made? And her opening statement in its definition of terraist included all those benighted people who were probably suffering mental health problems caught up in those ridiculous CIA stings.

Yes, Jane did a fine job channeling * and Lieberman and she, in wide-eyed earnestness, wondered why people would "want to kill us." What makes a terraist, and lordy, we need another commission to tell us that the world has "bad guys" in it. "Bad guys" we can fight with fancy-schmancy, super-dooper, whizbang weaponry. Hunger, poverty, illiteracy, exploitation, and fear....well....that's another story. There's something sexy about a boogey-man, and poor people...well they just smell and their huts, tents, and tenements are a blight on the high value real estate of the planet. What makes terraists? (insert snort of derision here) Jane, what don't you understand about people being so fed up and disenfranchised--yes, even in the good old U.S. of A.--that they lash out? What do you think caused the rise of the RW militias here? Combine that sense of helplessness with a few genuinely disturbed people in the world and you get chaos. You don't have to help the Charles Mansons with political aspirations recruit followers. Get behind changing the freakin' policies that create dispair and allow people to be manipulated by people obsessed with power.

Spit, spit, spit.
