Someone please explain to me how Homeland Security is better than the Gestapo. |
|
That sippy cup terrorist story on Olbermann was the latest indignity. A 19 month old terrorist baby and his Mom, who is a 14 year Secret Service agent.
These guys have failed at virtually everything they do. Except for one thing. Keeping the sheeple in line and cowering, if for no other reason than missing a flight because of the indignation of some TSA asshole.

1. Maybe Because the Gestapo Ran Death Camps? |
|
And they were in charge of killing and/or enslaving those of "inferior" races?
I'm as distrubed by recent events as anyone, but comparing pinheads to mass murderers is a little much.

2. But...lets remember that the Gestapo....or earlier the brownshirts |
|
were tasked will bullying the public and the undesirables.. it started somewhere and it is hard not to draw some comparisons..
Man having an epiliptic fit is tasered by police? (This has been happening more and more)
TSA pulling out everyone that does not fit the profile of a terrorist....(and yes lets get over it....they were from Saudi Arabia and Dubai) .......they bullied her and her child over water in a sippy cup....
This is beyond commen sense anymore... this is a direct danger to our National Security....
While 4-5 TSA agents watched her mop up water....water which she volunteered to drink.......who slipped by them?

4. The Gestapo evolved from untrained bullies |
|
Homeland Security - and the TSA specifically - has a wealth of untrained bullies.

9. I Think You're Confusing The Gestapo And The SA (Brownshirts) |
|
I might be a bit picky here, but this part of history is very important - I spent a fair bit of time studying how, in just a few years, Germany went from being perhaps the most liberal and tolerent nation on Earth to Hell on Earth. It's an incredible story, and it could happen here.

7. actually the SS under Himmler |
|
ran the death camps. But they both had really sharp uniforms. Homeland security is a pretty useless and even counterproductive bureaucracy.

10. the Gestapo was a subdivision of the SS, actually |
|
and tended to send people to the death camps, not actually administer them.

You think that stuff came about instantly?
It started and grew due to a particular mentality.

3. They didn't liquidate an entire political party like they did with the German Social Democrats |
|
That's a really big one right there. There are plenty of more examples. DHS is authoritarian, but it's nowhere near the level of terror and brutality that the Gestapo and the SS inflicted on people.

Not really sure where you're going with that; all I know is that HSA has DEFINITELY not reached Gestapo territory and any compariosns thereof are pure hyperbole - I'm citing Godwin's Law here, of course.

21. Ah, well....when will we know when "Godwin's Law" has been |
|
surpassed into TRUTH ....and a Nazi Comparison is the BEST/MOST REASONABLE comparison?
Godwin's Law: Godwin has argued,<3> that overuse of Nazi and Hitler comparisons should be avoided, because it robs the valid comparisons of their impact. Unfortunately, Goodwin's law is often used to ridicule even valid comparisons.<4>
God Wins LAW?....what an interesting (subliminal?) name....that is just the OPPOSITE of what it appears. Think "clear-skies initiative", etc.
THINK! Don't be fooled AGAIN!
Kindest regards to MOST (not all) of you, M_Y_H

The fact that this very website exists and Skinner isn't being forced into an oven right now is proof that we do not live in an actual, real, honest-to-god fascist state. Dissent is still permitted, unlike under genuine fascism.
And the name of the Who song you're referencing is "WON'T get Fooled Again." The difference is telling.

20. The Gestapo confronted and fought with people who were... |
|
... strong, quick, smart, brave, and determined to fight against fascism.
Homeland Security merely confronts ordinary people who are not very formidable and are not necessarily fighting against fascism.
