He wouldn't want to take away from the message of the film. But god I hope he runs!

Since he isn't nominated. The film is and the producers would accept the award. But just to see him standing as they go to the stage will be good.

I'd love to see it, but he'd be wise to wait.

7. the director will accept |
|
I'd love to see this happen BUT.....
for feature length documentaries, it's the director who is nominated along with the picture.
I guess the producers and Gore could join the director on stage.

10. You don't think Guggenheim would hand the statue |
|
over to Gore and say this is all you - and Gore would do the speech - that's what I would do if I were Guggenheim

11. I've thought about that, too. |
|
But I think he'd be smart to wait until after. If he's involved in the acceptance process, give a knockout speech that leaves everyone thinking about how damn smart and presidential the guy is...
Then maybe announce immediately after, within a week.

until October or November. People are getting irritated by all this premature electioneering. If Al waits, people will appreciate it and I think he'd pickup more support. Let the wave build with an Oscar and a Nobel peace prize.

14. I wonder every day what the perfect time for Gore would be |
|
to throw his hat into the ring. I can't shake the feeling that Gore should wait until he can swoop in like Superman after the next inevitable catastrophic shock and awe performance from Bush/Cheney's lying incompentence.

I think that would be too showy and the backlash would be massive. And I think Gore is too generous to create such a huge distraction from Guggenheim's accomplishment. I think he'll wait a while longer. I do hope he accepts Guggenheim's invitation to attend the Oscars, though. He'll be the biggest sensation on the red carpet.
