Some Republicans "privately wonder whether at times Rove has done them more harm then good" |
|
http://www.usnews.com/usnews/politics/bulletin/bulletin_070619.htm<snip> Congressional GOP Has Mixed View Of RoveCongressional Republicans have a decidedly mixed view of Karl Rove. Roll Call this morning reports many Hill Republicans who "view him as both the GOP's greatest electoral tactician of the decade and, increasingly, as the mastermind behind some of the party's major policy and political fiascos." Some Republicans "privately wonder whether at times Rove has done them more harm then good -- especially as they wade through a politically hairy immigration debate that Rove has helped fuel in his desire to attract more Hispanic voters to the GOP."

4. Just don't expect them to do anything about it |
|
Because whatever their private misgivings in the deepest recesses of their shrivelled little hearts, when the White House says "Frog" they jump, without stopping to ask how high. And when perfectly reasonable and well-supported charges and objections are aired against Mr. Rove, they all march dutifully off to the talk shows and denounce the proceedings with high, righteous indignation, decry the criminalization of politics, and recite their lines flawlessly about what a good and honorable man Karl Rove is. They get an extra tummy rub if they work in 9/11 or support the troops or imply that criticism in war-time is tantamount to treason.

6. they loved Nixon, too--enough to plan a hell of a revenge |
|
The way Nixon got outed--that was what led the Pukkkes to vow that one day they would make the Republic party the ONLY party for a generation--thus revealing their true identities as Constitution-hating totalitarians.
They liked Rove cuz he ignored the law, and got away with it just like Tricky Dick, and also their other hero, Reagan (not to mention Bush Sr.). Now that Rove is about to get caught, they suddenly discover they don't like him so much.
Rule By Crooks is a joke.
