In spite of our frustrations, we ARE FORTUNATE!!!!
We, ALL, have a space to air our feelings and thoughts, our fears and hopes.

I am encouraging a graciousness and thankful attitude,...for what we have, here.

If you and I are unable to be thankful for THIS,...we have no sense of value or a seed of hope to offer others.

1. Yes.
We damn well are.

Not one of us here expects to walk outside and be blown to bits.

3. "i'm tired of being grateful for what everybody else already has" -- mona simpson
i dunno, while i am certainly grateful for the site, the reality seems to be that we have a few small places to express ourselves, while the other side can boldly express itself everywhere, racists and loudmouths and haters can speak up right in the open, they OWN the public airwaves, they do not have to whisper fearfully behind the barn or to share their ideas under anonymous names on the internet, they can slap their "w" bumpa stickers right on their cars and never be afraid of being ticketed, harassed, or keyed the way people w. progressive ideas do

we need to stop being grateful for scraps, we are content with SO little

look at the posts like the one by "viva la revolution" where this woman's teeth are, literally, rotting and falling out of her mouth, this in america, and we all know a dozen other people who have the same experience, we all know someone sick whose sickness was made worse because they couldn't afford care, we all know someone harassed by a stalker or threatened by thugs who couldn't get justice, at some point we have stop being grateful and start saying, this ain't america, this ain't good enough
