1. I wonder what his eventual intentions are? Ind? Dem? He might |
|
be getting some people nervous, but I so love a good campaign!

3. He desperately wants to run for President. |
|
But he's short, divorced, and New York Jewish. He's going to sit back now and see if America sets up a clamor for his candidacy. Please Bloomberg! Save us from the woman and the black guy! He wouldn't need anything so, you know, democratic as a primary to install him. Just boatloads of his own money.
Do we really need another fucking CEO in the White House? But, but... this is a successful CEO, he'll do it right!
Can't wait to see what he says about healthcare.

10. I need to read more about him; his Jewishness won't be a turn-off, nor |
|
will his experience as a CEO. And ANYONE will be better than the current turd.

frighten people. I am pretty sure Bloomberg isn't orthodox like LIEberman.

Surely they have a reason?
Are they aware that 85% of 311 operators are privatized contract employees with no benefits?

21. Yea they have a number of reasons: |
|
(1) He supports equal marriage
(2) He's pro gun control
(3) He's installed energy-saving light bulbs in city buildings.
(4) He wants to plant hundreds and hundreds more trees throughout the city to help absorb carbon gases.
Those are just a few.
I'm not defending this 311 situation you've cited, but there are problems in every big city.
I believe the fact that he's leaving the GOP is quite telling.

23. So as a courtesy, I take time out of my busy schedule to answer |

your question, and yet you won't take the time to respond??
What's up with that!?!?!
Makes me wonder why I bother.

15. The repukes are no longer useful to Bloomie |
|
he only joined up in the first place because he thought it would be easier than facing a crowded Dem primary field, and cheaper and easier than mounting a signature drive to run independent. Then he shelled out megabuck$$$ to the RNC, and recruited the repuke convention to NYC (at one point arrested protesters were being held in a warehouse off the West Side Highway!) I do so admire a man of principles... :sarcasm:
Friends of Mom's call him "the tiny fascist" because of things like the smoking ban.

18. Just before he ran for Mayor for the first time, Bloomberg was a Democrat. I guess |
|
he feels that being an Independent will work for him in someway, as being a Republican did.

30% of the GOP Presidential candidates "don't believe" in Evolution.. Probably that number goes up to 80-90% when you're talking about the knuckle-dragging "base".
They're fucking whackjobs, and the relatively sane (if greedy) libertarian wing is leaving the ship in droves. We need to figure out how to welcome these folks into our tent; not by abandoning important economic principles like a liveable min. wage and a SPHC system (rather, we should stand up for them) but by articulating a strong, unapologetic personal freedom agenda:
Full civil rights for gays & lesbians, including marriage rights. Reproductive rights, including the right to choose, the right to have birth control prescriptions filled, and fact-based sex ed and contraceptive availability in schools An end to the Drug War and the war on pain management. The right of people to make their own medical and end-of-life decisions. The reinstatement of the Bill of Rights. The teaching of SCIENCE in public school SCIENCE classes. Respect for the Separation of Church and State. The right of consenting adults to entertain themselves in the privacy of their own homes as they damn well see fit, as long as they're not harming or endangering anyone else, and everyone involved is a consenting adult. The right of people to be free of would-be government nannys and religious, moralizing busybodies.
