Although fewer incidents occurred today, at least 117 Iraqis were killed and 224 more were wounded during new attacks. Most of the casualties were from a major bombing in central Baghdad. In Diyala province, U.S. forces are conducting a new security operation that has already killed several militants. Also, an MND-B soldier was killed by small arms fire yesterday in Baghdad.

In Baghdad, a car bomb at a Shi’ite mosque killed at least 78 people and wounded 224 others.

U.S. forces killed 22 militants during a new security operation involving 10,000 American troops in Baquba. Thirteen unidentified bodies were brought in to the morgue.

Three policemen were wounded in Nasariya when mortars fell on their headquarters. Two civilians were wounded in a separate mortar raid. The town in now under a curfew following two days of heavy clashing between security forces and the Mahdi Army.

1. And there's hardly a mention on MSM
This is fugging madness. Bush has ordered the soldiers to slaughter more Iraqis.

2. UPDATE: US army reports 3 American soldiers killed
The US military on Tuesday reported three US soldiers killed in separate attacks in Iraq, including one in an explosion in Diyala province where a new operation is under way to clear insurgents from the area northeast of Baghdad.

The Task Force Lightning soldier died and two others were wounded Tuesday after an explosion struck their vehicle during operations in Diyala, the military said in a statement.

A roadside bomb also killed a Task Force Marne soldier and wounded three others during a patrol south of Baghdad.

3. I spent the afternoon at the Minneapolis VA
My 90 day blood draw and checkup. Met a Marine who was hit with shrapnel in Iraq last winter. We are seeing ALOT more KIDS at the VA, and the folks from Korea and Vietnam treat them all with respect... The average age of VA patients is dropping from 55 toward 25... SICK.
