Poll question: Bloomberg could run as a Democrat
He is after all a "life long" dem except when he ran for Mayor.

That being said if he got through the primary season gauntlet he could conceivable the nominee.

Which begs the running mate question

Hillary is out because she is also from New York

This is just in jest...but it is not out of the realm of possibility.

Indies do not win. If he wants to win then he needs the party apparatus because his best shot otherwise would be to throw the election into the house and hope for a miracle.

8. Michael Bloomberg can afford to do anything he wants to in 2008.
He can rent a house in Jamaica and blow weed til sundown every single day indefinitely, or he can lay the groundwork for a run for the White House.

Today's news suggests he may opt for the second plan.

I'm not seeing Bernie Sanders on a Bloomberg ticket. It would likely be a heartland figure who's willing to bolt from his or her party ties, who was never in Stepford lockstep with the party in the first place, or who is not likely to again seek public office in his or her state. David Boren (former D-OK) or Chuck Hagel (R-NE) would be strong possible choices.

Bloomberg doesn't have anything to do after this second term as mayor. He's wildly rich and could mount a campaign quickly and effectively. Perot was also wealthy, but Perot behaved like a deep-fried muppet, blathering economic admonitions on LARRY KING LIVE. Bloomberg owns his own media empire and doesn't need Larry King at all. Plus, he speaks in common sense terms without a lot of hysterical yippee-yahoo jabber as Perot did.

Perot, absurd as he was, drew 19% that first run. I'm uneasy about Bloomberg's appeal and Bloomberg's bucks. I think he could do a lot better than Perot.

10. Swamp Rat! Howdy-do to ya.
I hope things are good your way these days.

Another tasty visual. Thank you.

I don't have a real sense of how ambitious Bloomberg is, but it occurs to me that the presidency might be an easier job than the one he holds now.
