1. Fred's always been acting...

Now he's even claiming it was HE who originally asked Alex Butterfield about the secret White House taping system while on the Watergate Committee. Butterfield was deposed about the tapes in closed-door testimony prior to the hearing; Thompson merely asked him about them during the hearing itself--in front of national TV cameras, of course.

This guy's going to be quite a story-teller when he finally gets around to running for real. And I've got a feeling most of those stories will be, in the words of my late, beloved Democratic stalwart grandmother, "whoppers"!

I'll say it again: the Repubs are in a sorry state indeed when they consider their savior in the presidential race next year to be..Fred Thompson!:eyes:
