Wasn't the issue one of parental rights of his father vs. a twenty-something cousin wanting to play house. And didn't they have a whole community starting to believe that he was a miracle child because he had been saved by the dolphins (and the fishermen)? There were also two others who survived that journey, a mixed race couple. Why were they not also worshipped for being saved by the dolphins?

We have treaties with other countries, mostly European, that we will respect their parental custody decisions and they will respect ours. Why, then, should we not respect this father's parental rights if he is the only living parent?
