4. but it's OK to torture one under the pretense of saving another
and it's OK to kill as many as you need to when you invade a country for lies and trumped up evidence under the pretense of national security

that that man is still in office is a testament to how low America has sunk

10. 64 yea, 34 no (IIIRC), not voting were 3 Dems, Landrieu, Johnson, and Dodd.
Literally a hair's breadth away from a veto proof majority.

We need to know how the Dems that missed the vote would have voted.

Here's the record:
http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=109&session=2&vote=00206

Just a breath away... (sigh)

25. Was last year's vote closer?
I had thought it was about the same.

I bet if we send this up again before the election, it will pass with veto proof margins. Now, it's 17 months until the next election and it's plenty of time for people to forget.

29. Oops--I think that was fro HR3, not as efective as HR 5, which is here:
http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2007/roll443.xml

This is precisely the one we want passed, the RRRepublicans deliberatly created HR3 to confuse the issue.

I think it can happen; voters are getting angry about this issue.

StemPac seems not to have been updated in some time--kind of alarming and I haven't gotten e-mails, either.

21. If the Dems would pressure Landrieu, she just might vote yea.
This is a case where I think the Dems need to hammer their own if she doesn't. Johnson I think is lost for this issue.

14. Iching - If we can't override this veto - forget it.
It makes me sick to my stomach to see that obnoxious little creep destroying my country the way he is and getting way with it. No one is stopping him and I don't think anyone can any more.

11. So when do we prosecute the 400 justifiable self-defense homicides a year?
And the 200 police justifiable homicides a year? Bet the cops will love that one.

Oh, and didn't a blowhard Republican recently support keeping all those troops in Iraq so that the terrorist will kill them there instead of bothering to kill us here?

And, finally and largest... doesn't that mean that killing a single Iraqi do save an American is also unethical?

Oh, the hypocracy abounds.

Who put them there? Who is arming them?
Who is 'ethical'???

If i stood before my child and defended them with my life, would i be un-ethical???

and this is the leader of the 'free-world'???
