I call Bush "POS" in front of my kids. |
|
I don't actually say the words, but I pronounce it "poss".
After taking a huge dump, I sometimes will say upon leaving the restroom "wow that was a lot of Bush".
Yes, I teach them to DISRESPECT 'the president". The man is not worthy of an ounce of respect, and yeah, I'll say it - neither is the office. Respect is something that is EARNED. Just winning an election and surrrounding yourself with flags and trappings does not make a person or even his office worthy of respect. Only deeds can do that.
My kids are 7 and 9, and I have taught them since they were very small that George Bush is a liar and murderer and the worst person to take the presidency in American history.
They have seen the photos of what POS Bush has done to Iraq, and they know the lies he told so he could do it.
Here in the public library they even have two excellent CHILDREN'S books about the devastation POS Bush brought upon Iraq, as well as the bullying and starvation campaign that was in effect ever since the FIRST POS Bush's war against them.
In spite of those things, I taught my kids not to hate this horrible man, because even he might possible somehow see the error of his ways someday and become a human being. I'm not holding my breath though...
My kids know they can love their country and still condemn its "leaders" when they are corrupt and traitorous.
I teach my kids these things because it's important for them to know, and I won't apologize for it.

...but I do teach them not to use profanity, and I don't use profanity around them.
I told them, it's not because profanity is evil - everyone uses it sometimes, but overusing profanity is just laziness and tends to make us seem stupider than we are, so it's more about developing good habits than swears being "evil".
But calling POS Bush a POS is kind of an exception. He is one of the major villains of our time.

7. There is absolute truth in this statement.... |
|
"Yes, I teach them to DISRESPECT 'the president". The man is not worthy of an ounce of respect, and yeah, I'll say it - neither is the office. Respect is something that is EARNED. Just winning an election and surrrounding yourself with flags and trappings does not make a person or even his office worthy of respect. Only deeds can do that."
I would like someone, anyone to name one thing, just one thing that this POS has done that is positive for a.) Humanity in general and/or b.) Good for the American people.... Not holding my breath on this one.

14. He hasn't started a nuclear war with Russia...yet |
|
I suppose that's probably the only thing I can say, that despite having the nuclear codes, he hasn't used them. Then again, he probably couldn't figure the damned thing out. "I can't read these launch codes, they're written in gibberish!"

10. Sixty years from now, today's kids will be grandparents. |
|
And their kids will be just getting interested in history and politics, and they'll be asking their grandparents about Bush. And they'll say "I was only a kid, but I sure remember by parents were cursing-mad about him." And they'll be proud.
And the grandparents who can't remember their parents being upset over Bush will feel left out.

13. I remember my dad cursing about POS Reagan when I was a teen. |
|
He worked in the government, and there were several times when he was "furloughed" (off work without pay for days or weeks) because POS Reagan shut down the whole government in order to extort his damnable tax cuts for the rich from the congress.
I'm sure he had choice words for Nixon too, but I was too young to remember that.

20. I was the kid whose parents... |
|
...cursed about Nixon.
My mother would keep me home from school to watch the Watergate hearings on TV. I would go back to school with a note, and luckily my teacher was sympathetic. (I was in the 5th grade) At one point he even asked the other kids why THEIR parents didn't keep them home to watch the hearings. My dad even worked on the Pentagon Papers at the New York Times, and the FBI came to our house.
Ooops! Hi there, Agent Mike!

No apology is necessary. This administration is a case study in psychopathology.
I use Harry Potter characters to drive the point home. The pentagon/military/industriall complex are the dementors. Guess who Lord Voldemort is...

18. I try to be consistent with them, but not an absolutist. |
|
They know swearing is a no-no, but that dad might swear if he hits his thumb with a hammer. I would probably be equally forgiving of my kid swearing if he had just gotten beaten up at school or something. There is a time and place for everything.
POS Bush represents so much evil, no curse word could compare to the profanity that his administration represents.

about "That Sonuvabitch in the White House." "Nitwit, Little Boots, and Chimpy" are also on the list. She's liberal, very well informed, and knows her politics. She won't know what hit her if we ever have a non-moran as President. :hippie:
