There, I just earned $50, and you can too! Join us in the exciting world of the conservative corporate troll posting program (CCTPP for short) Insult Michael Moore and Al Gore and other liberals, and have fun, too, getting your conservative frustrations out! Can't think of something truthful, just say whatever you want, because someone out there WILL believe you!
Earn extra money, to top it off!
Our top notch list of conservative think tanks will provide you with the resources that you need to be a success.
Can't think of a cleverly crafted insult that will play on Americans' worst fears??
Our team of crack AEI & HF psychologists know just how to turn a phrase that burrows deep in the American public's psyche!
We are here for you!
They do all the work 24/7, so you don't have to!

And YOU get all the accolades!!
Talk about win-win!

A recent graduate talks about his success:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Thanks CCTPP, before I joined, I was miserable. Liberals and their scientific facts and logic and gov't oversight, I had just about given up. But Bob Roberts at the CCTPP showed me the path to success! Yes, the Earth is only 10,000 years old, and I am proud to say it! And Saddam was connected to 9/11, too, I just know it!
When I was down, the CCTPP's "motivationeers", R.L. & B.O., were strong for me!
Through the tough times, thanks guys, you feel my pain through the CD!
(Also, thanks for the great deal on the 20 CD-set, Bob, Only $150!)

Now I can 'confuse the issue' with the best of 'em!
"He's hates America because he questions the government!"
"Scientific doubt arising from corporate studies by industries affected by global warming"
"They love terrorists!"
"He's fat!"
P.S. In my heart, I know that I chose the right path, the path to truthiness.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Folks, with a success story like that, how CAN you go wrong?

1. When Michael Moore was insulting Al Gore, was he a troll?
If I recall correctly, Michael Moore spent much of the year 2000 marching around the country with a fucking paranoid announcing that Al Gore was the same as George Bush.

I rather dislike Michael Moore. It seems to me he makes a lot of money on the outcome of the 2000 election - an outcome he worked his damnedest to effect.

13. Actually, it doesn't.
I'm not as forgiving as Al Gore. I voted for Gore in 2000 - and was proud of my vote - and I would vote for Gore again but that doesn't mean that I view Gore as an infallible God who dictates my opinions.

Maybe Gore doesn't give a shit about Moore's embrace of Nader in 2000, but I do.

Of course, I probably despise Ralph Nader more than Gore does too.

I despised Ralph Nader before it was fashionable, in fact. Ralph Nader was illegally breaking strikes and treating workers like shit well before 2000. Micheal Moore could have looked it up, say in 1996 or 1992 even. He's supposed to be so good at research.

Moore is a credulous schmuck. It's OK to be a credulous schmuck, but a pompous, smug credulous schmuck is too much for me.

Not that I am going to check out the details, but as I understand it, he is now promoting the King of Cuba, the same guy who put patients with severe pyschological disorders on boats out of Mariel and pushed them out to sea.

The King of Cuba, when he wasn't pushing sick people out to sea was taking people like the poet Reinaldo Arenas into prison for the crime of being gay.

Lovely.

20. Ugh.
That you should probably "just get over." You obviously didn't read the suggested post or you'd not have been so snippy in your reply.

14. It would be nice to be paid for having honor.
Fifty bucks hardly seems to be much though, given the millions that Moore's pocketed during the Bush administration by complaining about the Bush administration.

I wonder how many people would have bought tickets to see Fahrenheit 911 during the Gore administration. In terms of Michael Moore's financial accounts, it hardly could be said that Bush is the same as Gore.

People are such credulous rubes. No wonder that fat fool is so damn rich.

16. $50 is a lot of money to the people Michael Moore is trying to help.

Moore is a Labor Activist.

He is not a Democrat. He is possibly the Only major person voicing the concerns of Labor organized and not organized left in the country.

Obviously you are one of the well off two if you ignore the $50 comment to launch annother ad hominem instead of adressing the point.

6. They show up on DU regularly.
I knew the RW lobbyists were paying PR firms to pay operatives to spread disinformation on the internet. I didn't realize the conservative think tanks were doing it too. It used to be they used the middle man to distance themselves from the operations so they could deny any wrong doing if called on it. I guess they just don't care anymore. That's how emboldened PNAC's Amerika has become.

12. A short one but I'm going to have to make
a better effort to record everyone I'm suspicious of. Some in the past have been tombstoned, but that doesn't mean they aren't spreading lies on other message boards.

8. So you got a job with Netvocates!
They have been very busy trolling blogs regarding global warming:

But the gist of it is that NetVocates appears to offer a service whereby they will target weblogs which might "impact an organization and its products and image in uncontrolled and often unexpected ways", and they then hire individuals to post comments on those weblogs which will, presumably, help to create more "controlled" and "expected" impacts.

In other words they pay people to troll.
...

...the owner of NetVocates is a fellow named Chip Griffin who "seems to write a lot of stuff of interest to Republican candidates, congressmen, etc and...worked for a variety of politicians, think tanks, and public relations firms in the Washington, D.C. area. In addition, he headed townhall.com, a conservative internet portal."

http://deconsumption.typepad.com/deconsumption/2006/06/trolling_for_do.html

and from http://weaseldog.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html dated Dec 27 2006, my favorite:

NetVocates doesn't only disrupt discussions of Peak Oil, they can be bought and paid to disrupt discussions of political candidates, government policies and calls for peace. And they do.

Next time you wonder why an internet commentator is taking a pro-genocide position, it could well be that they are being paid to promote the slaughter of other human beings. Screaming on the internet to have people slaughtered in other countries, is just another day at the office for some folks. Think of it as a way to 'put food on your family'.

The halfway intelligent ones do it for money...the rest just do it because...they aren't smart enough to do it for money.
