Don't Blame Me I Voted For Bush... |
|
I just want Y'all to know I saw a Prickasaurus on GA US 400 SB @ the Marta Kiss and Ride exit with that bumper sticker on his car.
Yes people...a guy TODAY had that bumpersticker on his car.
I just had to say that out loud.

39. That came later. Up until '96ish, Bill Clinton wasn't exceptionally popular. |
|
He only got re-elected because Senator Dole barely bothered to campaign, don't forget. Bill Clinton's popularity was largely a product of his second term.

42. Nah, polls had Clinton's approval rating in the mid-50s by '96 |
|
His popularity shot up towards the end of '95 and stayed above 50% for the rest of his presidency.

43. Fine. A "Don't Blame Me, I Voted For Bush" sticker still works |
|
in the mid '90s if his popularity improved at the end of '95.

Bush still dominates policy. Bush was unimpeded for nearly six years of his term. How could any policy be anyone's fault (and thus blame) except Bush?
Then again - it almost takes having no sense to still be supporting bushjr.

"It's not MY fault you couldn't unseat Bush"
It really is true that "Conservatism can not fail; Conservativism can only be failed" in their minds. Got a problem? Have an issue? Blame anything and everything you don't like on Liberals and it will be just fine. :freak:

|
It seemed like I saw the first only one days after the election, but it may have been a week or two.
It captures the Bush mentality perfectly: smug, self-righteous, fixated on blaming. It also has few syllables, which helps their reptillian brains understand it easily.

14. Anyone still seeing "W: STILL the President" stickers? |
|
I do, occasionally, here in GA.
I'll reiterate my nomination for these as the most willfully obnoxious car stickers EVAH.
Think about it, if you will, the historical precedent. Never before, in my memory (which goes back to the 60s) have the people who've won a re-election printed stickers to RUB IT IN.
Nixon's voters didn't; Reagan's didn't. But not these sick bastards.

|
This is an empirical bully presidency, and the asswipes who voted for him carry that rogue mentality with them.
Yet you know what else?
These cars never so much as get touched for their smugness and meanness, but how much does anyone want to bet that if I put my "F The President" sticker on MY car, I'd find minimum one, probably five dents and other assorted vandalization?

19. I've seen just two "F the President" stickers here in GA |
|
One was on an extremely large black SUV, oddly enough.
And whether it would incite vandalism, really, depends on where you park your car. there are parts of metro Atlanta where such sentiments aren't very controversial. Others, well...

21. I live in Ohio, so I'm pretty much an open target anywhere. |
|
Even in medium to dark-blue sections like Lorain and Cuyahoga counties, there are more than enough pockets of angry white men of all ages who would take offense to such a sticker. They think the Failure Fuhrer deserves respect no matter HOW many soldiers or jobs his actions obliterate, and anything veering from that borders on treason.

Where I live, the bigger the SUV, the more likely it is to have a pro-Bush sticker on it. Although I see tiny cars with such decals as well, of course.
Obviously not everyone who drives an SUV, or even a large one, supports Bush. Some of my best friends, yadda yadda yadda.
Ok?
