More Americans Disapprove Of/Hate George W. Bush Than Populated The Entire U.S. In Nixon Era
Reflecting on Smoogatz' post, "Bush now in statistical tie w/ Nixon for lowest approval ever!", the following occurred to me:

The U.S. population in 1972, about a year and half before Nixon's resignation from office, was 209,896,021. http://www.infoplease.com/year/1972.html#us

The U.S. population last year HIT 300 million.

To simplify things, we'll round off and simply say, that in 1972, the U.S. population was 2/3 what it is today.

With Bush's disapproval rating at approximately 25% of the current U.S. population, that means that around 225 million Americans disapprove of/hate/dislike George W. Bush.

At it's worst, Nixon's approval rating was 23% - at the time of his resignation, but we'll round that off to approximately 25% too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Approval_rating

That means only around 158 million Americans disapproved of/hated/disliked Richard Nixon at the time of his resignation.

More Americans today hate/disapprove of George W. Bush than made up the entire population of the country at the time of Nixon's resignation.

Feel a bit better?

(Feel free to check my math, but I did kind of round of and get squishy on the years.)

1. Well... although it sounds good
Bush*'s approval rating is not with the population of America but with registered voters, which I doubt is even half of the actual population. I really doubt any three year olds were questioned about their opinion of Bush*.. I didn't really want to rain on the parade...
