Poor Paula - about to lose her CNN slot AND her husband
June 21, 2007 -- CNN anchor Paula Zahn may or may not be leaving her cable network show, but she's already moved out of the Fifth Avenue co-op apartment she's shared with her soon-to-be-ex husband, Richard Cohen.

Sources tell us the host of "Paula Zahn NOW," whose spicy affair with a married mogul was revealed by the press last March, is renting a full-floor apartment at the Siena on East 76th Street for $40,000 a month. The 6,000-square-foot postwar condo on a high floor in the full-service building includes five bedrooms, six baths, a den/library and views of the park and the city.

The 51-year-old cable queen is the latest to fly the co-op at 927 Fifth Ave., where a few years ago Cohen - as the head of the building's board - notoriously removed the nest of Pale Male and Lola, the famed Manhattan-dwelling red hawks whose eviction from the prewar structure made national news. Mary Tyler Moore, a resident in the building at the time, joined protesters across the street to denounce Cohen's decision.

A CNN spokeswoman would not comment on Zahn's move.

25. She used to be good some 20 years ago when she hosted
the CBS Morning show with Harry Smith. Quite talented and a musician, too.

But Americans like tabloid stories so this is what they get.

Too bad she has to compete with Orally on the right and Olbermann on the left.

24. Hummm -- can a woman be a "twit"? I thought that was reserved for men.
Edited on Thu Jun-21-07 11:56 PM by Radio_Lady
Now, if you're spelling it with an "a" --- I understand ---

ON EDIT:

Oh, oh -- I just learned something new -- looks like it's a unisex term:

twit(twt)
tr.v. twit·ted, twit·ting, twits
To taunt, ridicule, or tease, especially for embarrassing mistakes or faults. See Synonyms at ridicule.
n.
1. The act or an instance of twitting.
2. A reproach, gibe, or taunt.
3. Slang A foolishly annoying person.

And, from takeourwordforit.com (1998)

From Deanna:

I am trying to find out the origin of the word twit. I have been told that King Henry VIII coined the term and I have been unsuccessful in finding any information to confirm or deny this. Could you please help?

We never ignore a plea for help! The most plausible theory is that twit the noun comes from twit the verb. The latter has its origin in twite, which was formed, via aphesis (the loss of an unstressed initial vowel or syllable), from atwite "to reproach". Its Old English form was aetwitan "to reproach with", from at + witan "to blame". Wit, of course, meant "knowledge", and aetwitan therefore meant "to not know, to censure". It was not until the 18th century that twit gained its "idiot" sense from association with "one who is reproached". Some etymologists also believe that it might have been influenced by such other derogatory words as twerp and its similarity to nitwit.

Another theory has it that twit comes from a more offensive word which substitutes an a for the i. Just as I suspected!

31. "Do you know anyone who died?"
She actually asked that to some kid at Va.Tech.

I was watching and my jaw just dropped. She spent the whole hour trying to blame the university and the cops etc. and no one and I mean NO ONE would buy into it but she just kept on

She has no talent at all. The fact that she (and others I could name) even have TV shows is the perfect illustration of how horribly misinformed we as a people are.
