Would Bloomberg take more potential Dems
or potential Repukes?

Maybe it would be a wash?

My husband, who definitely would have vote Dem this time, now loves
the idea of a socially liberal business person to vote for. (Thinks we
need a business person to "reorganize" the mess we're in.)

1. Depends on who the Dems nominate.
Another triangulating, part time, liberal who is a mirror of Bloomberg could split the votes 3 ways. Not even the "a pox on all your houses" non voters.

4. Not likely. There are few Democrats who'd be willing to endure being noseless to spite their face

2. depends on who he chooses for vp
if its him and a dem vs. clinton or obama i'd take him by a mile. Vs. gore, kucinich or edwards I would vote with the party.

3. he raised taxes so the tax hating wing would not vote for him imo and his stance
on gun control could be an issue, strike that, will be an issue for the nra and his socially liberal positions will be a problem for the social conservatives imo.

7. A lot of DU'ers will read into that possibility their own desires and bias. Based on facts,
Bloomberg would take way more votes from Republicans who are socially liberal.

At this point, the overwhelming number of Democrats are ready to get rid of Bush and get a Dem in the WH. We won't be voting third party.

8. Why would a Democrat find him attractive?
Is he more socially liberal than any of the Dems?

I don't get it.

Bloomberg's guys have been exploring a run for 2 years but Bberg (UNLIKE NADER<-my emphasis) does not want to be a spoiler for Hillary Clinton.

So apparently he assumes that he would hurt Dems more and I would personally agree with that assessment. I think he would take a lot of independents.
