They didn't die for America, they died in vain for dick cheney.
All those who've died thus far in this obscenity of a war, they didn't die for freedom or democracy, they didn't die to protect America from it's perceived enemies, they didn't die to free the Iraqi people, they didn't die for some lofty or noble cause, they all died in vain, because they died for dick cheney.

Our sons and daughters, recruited with lies, false promises, jingoistic fervor, fear, corrupting their patriotism and using it for the enrichment of dick cheney. Three thousand five hundred soldiers in 5 years, with no end in sight they keep fighting and dying miserably for dick cheney.

Mothers and fathers with broken hearts and folded American flags at thousands of funerals, desperately clinging to the notion that their sons and daughters died serving their nation proudly, that they died for America, for us, for a reason, but no, they died for dick cheney.

They all died in vain for a man who didn't have the time or the inclination to serve in the military during war, they died for a fat pig who spends every waking second of his life fucking people over, robbing people, and killing people, they died for a heartless, soulless snarling monster.

Do you think dick cheney ever wastes even one tiny second of his fat miserable life thinking about all those who have died for him and him alone?

Bless em all, they THOUGHT they were fighting for America, but God help us all, they died purely and simply for dick fucking cheney, and they died in vain.

1. May he be remembered in the same breath as Judas Escariot...
Josef Goebels, Vidkun Quisling, and Benedict Arnold.

A monster. An evil that will hopefully stain the name of Cheney to the point where to invoke it in the future of US politics (if any when he gets through with it) will bring a gut reaction of fear and loathing to make Joseph McCarthy look like Mother Theresa.

4. He is America's 300 pound tumor.
Is he the ultimate example of an ugly American? Is he the best creature we could possibly produce? Is he the true American spirit unchained?

8. I keep pondering on the thought
that between 15 and 25yrs. from now we the people will be judged as to why we let this administration destroy this country with all the lies, cheating, stealing, breaking of the laws, dismissing of the constitution and the mounting deaths to name a few.

Edited on Fri Jun-22-07 07:33 AM by Gabi Hayes
would be to make CERTAIN that Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Wolfowitz/Feith, etal would be made IMMEDIATELY available for the same cell in the Hague that Milosevic infested, pending a swift trial

they're all WAR CRIMINALS, guilty of crimes against humanity, no better than the likes of those judged at Nuremburg

10. Quietly...
... I will say I agree with you.

But I would NEVER say that to a grieving parent or loved one. Some delusions we have to maintain to keep from losing our minds. The reality of what has happened here is too big to bludgeon the grieving with. They deserve any comfort they can maintain. I would never disrupt that comfort.

In due time, the truth will become known and accepted by (almost) all.

13. this message needs to be loud and clear

I'm sorry for those that have died and were injured, and I can't imagine the suffering their families have and will continue to go through but we need to tell the truth because it is the only way it is going to end. The families that have lost love ones deserve the truth, to continue to lie to them so they won't be more upset is not a valid reason.

If you lost a loved one to murder would you rather have the police lie and say it was an accident or would you like to see the person that did it brought to justice?

Edit: “See the pain,” said Mr. Donahue. “Don’t sanitize this war.”

20. Quietly?? That's what allows this madness to continue!
I'm sorry the soldiers died. But to silence those who wish to make it known to the world that those soldiers died not for America, but for Dick Cheney's evil rotten ego, is just to enable more of the same.

The families of those dead soldiers should know for sure exactly why and for whom their precious children were killed. To allow them to believe that their children died "defending America" or some such crap does a disservice to their memory.

22. Saying that they've all died in vain will get one scolded.
But that can't be helped, because it's true. I would hate to have to hear myself saying these words outloud about one of my loved ones.

30. Maybe...
... I wasn't clear or folks aren't listening.

I am NOT talking about speaking against the reality of this war.

I'm talking about about telling someone, a real live person in grief, that their loved one died for nothing.

You can do that if you want, I would never do that.

16. They Bought The Big Lie
Fear, Fear, Fear...it created the world Chenney was able to manipulate. Fear of blacks, fear of powerful women, fear of gays, fear of Russians, fear of A-rabs, fear of brown-skinned people, fear of "libruals", fear of Mexicans, fear, fear, fear. Oh and then there's the bag of Democratic fears...fears of raising taxes, fears of closing churches and forcing everyone (including males) to get abortions and burn flags...fear of being a free thinker and questioning authority. For 30 plus years, the Repugnicans spread fear that Democrats first dismissed and then didn't have ways to respond...until we got some netroots.

Sadly, many in this country...most commonly known as the "sheeple" have lived in a cocoon from the rest of the world and reality. Our wealth and power made it possible to create a world that didn't reflect the real one...where everything in the world was viewed through an America lens...how the world was "all about us". Somehow we're entitled to a superior status...that by some supernatural force has superior intelligence and culture and we know what's best for others...especially those we know nothing about.

There's a comeuppence up ahead for this nation...call it the post-Iraq hangover...just like we had in the wake of Vietnam. While there will be those who will be in absolute denial as to what happened, a majority of us will look back and ask some hard, tough questions. The biggest question is if this country has finally learned? May chenney and this regime always be a reminder...and that, yes, we did learn enough not to allow fear to turn this country into a dictatorship again.

Cheers...

:hi:

23. Actually, there are some people who don't have a clue
They don't pay attention to what is going on around them; too busy with family, jobs, hobbies, other priorities. They might get snippets from other people, but don't do any reading to ascertain the facts. I guess these people will wake up when something devastating happens to them.

24. Doomed Without Redemption?
We crossed the "tolerate" line years ago when weaseldicks like Gingrich and DeLay were given power and then the SCOTUS overstepped their authority in installing this regime. Since then it's been damage control at the best and mostly futility. But I hope we've reached a point where the pendulum has begun to swing away from tolerating and accepting Repugnican lies and corruption. Last year's election was the first step...and one of many that will be needed to get some equalibrium back in this country.

My goal is to root out the enablers, those that benefited from tolerating with booosh and chenney...and prevent them from getting nera the levers of power and control in my life in the future. Hopefully others here will fight that good fight as well.

Cheers..
