What do cafe's have to do with the energy bill? |
|
On the ticker tape at CNBC it said that an energy bill was passed, and now cafes need to reach 35 MPH.
So, I'm thinking of Starbuck's drive-thru and visualizing fastfood service getting even faster.
Was that a typo or do I need to put my glasses on?

1. the only thing that comes to mind is 'cafe racer' |
|
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caf%C3%A9_racer But it really doesn't make much sense in this context. :)

3. Brilliant move by Congress! |
|
Their bills now effect foreign products and leave American products disaffected! That's the way to go!
Of course, it might backfire when everybody decides to buy a more efficient foreign car.
Hey! I saw the ticker tape again. It said that cafe standards will rise to 35MPH. WTF?

5. Congress passed an Energy bill: will boost cafe standards to 35 MPH by 2020. |
|
That's what the ticker said. It's scrolled passed three times.

6. Does the cafe improve if I ride a bicycle? |
|
or does it not factor in? I need some cupholders on my bicycle if I'm going to drive through Starbucks (or preferably Tim Horton's).
At least it'll improve my "carbon tire-track".
(I just realized my bike is about 50 years old. Yikes!)

7. Good news. You have until 2020 to make the necessary upgrades. |
|
Of course, if your bike is the pedaling kind, I imagine the strain of riding it at 35 MPH in twenty years is going to be a bitch.

8. I think the target is 35 mpg, not mph |
|
So if I ride a few miles, then drink a beer, repeat ad-infinitum, I can get 35 mpg. General Motors may be out in front on this one. Do they really make bicycles? http://www.abikestore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=abs&Product_Code=gmc-yukonxl:wtf:
