NASA TV fans, Space shuttle landing in about 8 minutes at Edwards AFB |
|
Coming in from the South.
Man, I'd be sweating bullets if I were sitting there in Mission Control.

They usually replay it about 20-30 times after a while. < http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/>

27. I didn't hear any sonic booms this time. |
|
But a freind of mine in San Diego just IM'd me and said he heard them.
My mom did hear them and she's in Bakersfield which is west of Edwards AFB.
I remember seeing one of the shuttles in the sky coming in for a landing one time.

31. This one came in over Baja California, almost due South. |
|
I had one wake me up once, back in the 1983, when I lived in Santa Barbara, but the best was the one I heard (and briefly saw) go overhead when I lived in Orlando, FL, (in 1994 I think it was).

34. Doh! Try washing in the Dishwasher! |
|
NPR did a story last week about people who do that, and they said that most of the time it works.
MOST of the time.
Just make sure you let the Dishwasher dry it. I recommend the "Cool Dry" setting if you have it.
Do this only if you really did "ruin" your keyboard, I've yet to try this theory.

36. I was kidding (about this kb) but I actually have washed MANY that way! |
|
But I generally take them apart first...it's really hard to get -all- the water out without leaving some gunk behind that can be semi-conductive and screw up the matrix circuits. Been a while though...they're cheap enough nowadays replacements are too easy. :D
