I have missed my Stephanie Miller! |
|
I've been hospitalized/rehabbed and have missed her show for 3 months. How is she doing? Is there any news about her travels or the latest celebrity that Jim is impersonating?
I'm going on her website to catch up but some tidbits from my buddies at DU (with your UNIQUE perspective!) would be more than welcome!
Luv ya!

1. Jim is doing a Lieberman |
|
that is just creepy. You'd swear he was in the room with them. The Show is still great. Welcome back.
Check the website and you should be able to get at least a weeks worth of the major bits and some interviews.
Cheers Drifter

2. Yes, I love Jim's Lieberman. I hope they are tearing him apart |
|
with humor, of course.
We're trying to get our progressive station back in New Haven. No luck so far. I am just heartsick. It was my weekday lifeline. Now I get a fairly distant last 2 hours of Stephanie that is so staticky you can't stand it for more than a few minutes at a time.
Thanks for your update.

4. They have a Scooter Libby jingle |
|
based on the old Libby's commercial with very naughty lyrics. It's an earworm and once you hear it you can't get it out of your head.
Jim Ward does an hilarious impersonation of Bernie Schlozman, the DOJ fellow with the incredibly high voice. I find myself hearing Jim's voice saying the name whenever I read it here.
Their newest sounds like a commercial for a dragstrip, but is for "Arrowhead Ripper", which is the name Bush gave to the surge in Iraq.
Mama is going to Gay Pride Festival in San Francisco this weekend. They did a takeoff of "If You're Going to San Francisco" only instead of flowers in the hair, I think they said something about wearing chaps.

"When it's Libby's, Libby's, Libby's, on the label, label, label,...."
That seems pretty innocuous. You can do a few lines here at liberal ole DU?
I'm biting my nails waiting to hear...

11. Oh dear--warning-not for innocent eyes! |
|
Well, you know the tune from the commercial, right? Here's the new words:
Scooter Libby Libby Libby's going to jail jail jail He will take it take it take it in the tail tail tail Scooter Libby Libby Libby had some power power power Better hold onto the soap in the shower shower shower

13. Yep, leave to my girl Steph and her friends! |
|
Thanks a bunch. I'm going to try to get her next week. For some reason when I drive close to the shoreline all I get is static. I'll try to just drive in the opposite direction!

because there are no progressive talk radio stations near here! Try WCPT--that's my favorite station to stream.

5. She got a bunch of grief over a jingle about Scooter Libby |
|
So, of course, she continues to play it over and over. She and Chris had some stomach flu. As soon as she got over that, she got a cold. She's in San Francisco tonight.
She has a new future husband -- the judge in the Libby case. Alan Colmes defended her on Hannity and Colmes.

She's decided she's for the death penalty, after all...for Paris Hilton. Seems Hilton neglected her cat and the cat got run over. Plus, she dots her i's with hearts.
She's still doing the beaver stack. Seems some college team named the Beavers was going to play a team called the Ant Eaters -- abbreviated Eaters. The Eaters failed to lick the Beavers in the recent game.

9. Love her politics, happy a liberal is on the air...but I can't stand her giggling voice! |
|
Edited on Sat Jun-23-07 02:51 PM by GreenTea
I can't listen...I always put on another liberal radio show when she's on...Peter B Collins live when Miller's show is repeated on Sirius Left in the afternoon (PT)....and I prefer reruns of the last Malloy, Randi, Hartmann show, or I'll listen to Air America Radio live when Miller is on live in the mornings...
That crazed happy crank-laced voice sends me insane...I want to bite the knobs off my radio when I hear her!!!!

15. Thanks. Abdominal surgery is pretty awful and I managed to have |
|
3 in two weeks time. The first one, a simple resection of a section of my colon, then a complication: had to get rid of scar tissue that had formed, then they saw pools of abcesses that had to be gotten out. However, it is a great way to lose 20 lbs and learn interesting ways to throw up in a hospital bed!
Ciao!

17. Well, there's post op pain but thank god for percoset |
|
This was just "bad luck" according to my surgeon (one of the best in our area and I had the surgery at Yale NH Hospital so you would think everything would be OK).
Thanks for your condolence. At least I don't have a chronic illness or cancer. That's how I comfort myself. I'm lucky compared to many I know...

20. That's a GOOD dream! I hallucinated in the hospital when I was on |
|
morphine, that I was actually riding in a train from Boston to New Haven. When I asked the nurse what time the train got into New Haven, I think they must have adjusted my dosage. I also hallucinated that I was being sent to work at Stop and Shop Supermarket and the nurses were cashiers. So much for morphine.
