Why not pool it for healthcare?

2. You see that's not socialism because big companies benefit from it.
:sarcasm:

4. You're making the same point many of us in the states make.
We have a socialized police force, socialized garbage pickup, socialized road repair, socialized military, socialized education through high school, yet somehow socialized healthcare is "bad" to members of the nazi party.

10. Looks to me like
the current federal administration and my state administration is working on privatizing the roads (toll roads), privatizing the schools (school vouchers, privatizing the military (Blackwater), and privatizing the prison system.

6. Well, see... It doesn't matter if you die needlessly from an eminently curable illness. But,
if it's them durned Eyerakees comin' over to your country and killin' youz, that's a w-h-o-l-e different ball o' wax, my friend! Imagine you not knowin' that!

7. "if you can't afford a lawyer, one will be appointed you"...
without ANY requirement that you repay the 'state'.

Not true if you can't afford a doctor.

And this is something many 'americans' are PROUD of?

11. Great point
I've only needed a defense lawyer appointed to me once in my life, but I'll probably need another one when I have to become a bank robber to pay off my medical bills.

8. The whole notion of the "greater good" is lost on some people.
I really don't know why. Especially when a lot of those same people love the idea of selling stock to thousands of people to raise money to expand a business.

9. No. It's called corporate welfare.
Socialism's ultimate goal isn't to enrich the few at the expense of many. That is how Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler described war: A racket.
