Answer truthfully, not politically. Explain your answer.

1. Other: INVESTIGATE the hell out of these crooks; then, the votes will follow. NT

4. No escape clauses in this poll.

2. The most we can hope for is legislating change
I wouldn't even go so far as saying "real change", but that was the option closest to my feelings. The key thing this Congress can do is hold investigatory hearings, bringing things out into the open, and using these hearings as a catalyst for bills that will institute change in the way our country operates. I'm sincerely hoping that many more Dems sign on with Kucinich on his H. Res 333 to impeach Cheney--after all that's gone on recently, I'd think that even Pubs would be looking at the resolution seriously. Corruption at the top does not help their party.

6. Yes, but look at how little real damage Nixon's corruption did to the GOP
They only lost the White House for four years. Smirk was able to openly incorporate Nixon admin members in his 2000 campaign - - Cheney most prominently - - without any backlash at all.

Dollars to donuts, what will happen if the investigations ever get close to uncovering a real smoking gun that could get Smirk and/or Cheney impeached, is that Cheney will resign and some GOPer with a shaky knowledge of history and/or more ego than brains will agree to accept the Vice Presidency in exchange for agreeing to pardon Smirk & company (or in exchange for looking the other way while they flee to Paraguay or Dubai). Then, once the neo-Ford is in place, Smirk will resign.

And Congress will have to let the whole thing drop.

It would be "interesting" (the way a train wreck is "interesting") to see if McCain is the one who agrees to be VP in Cheney's place. McCain's campaign is in trouble, and being President for a few months might give him a clear way to win in 2008.

7. What I'm counting on is the "short run is all that matters" mentality
of the current GOP. I would also hope that this time around, they impeach the people and get to the bottom of everything so we don't have a repetition of this sordid business in another 30 years--if our planet has that long.

3. We don't even have enough votes in th eSenate to bring
something that the middle class needs to a vote. The republicans have blocked practically all social issue program bills.

5. The Republicans ruled with an iron fist with little more majority than we have right now.
All our Democrats are doing is making excuses for what they are not doing.

8. This poll is only based on the following:
The current administration and their nature, the number of republicans and democrats in congress, and those three options.

9. The unfortunate problem is that by the time we have a substantial
majority in Congress the evil doers will hopefully be gone. It will be hard to do anything until 09. However, at least we can put a brake on their wet dreams.

12. Sorry about that.
I'm trying to get people to think in terms of numbers only.

13. None of the above is the correct answer.
A slight Minimum Wage Hike was passed though.

14. If that is considered real change.
Some will claim it is and I will give them that because it means something to the person receiving minimum wage. I'm trying to pose this qestion as something the administration will oppose, that will change course and doesn't have to be attached to anything the executive branch wants.

17. The Republicans impeached Clinton with 228 votes. The Dems have 233.
Just pointing out the emptiness of the "we don't have the votes" whine.

18. On target.
Here are the facts. Impeach is the only option listed that requires no republican help. Legislation either requires an agreeable president or republican votes to make legislation veto proof. And then you have the situation of signing statement abuses.
