Video at link.

Omaha, NE - A case of animal abuse stuns a North Omaha family. Neighbor Cecelia Minshall witnessed two juveniles beating a black lab mix Monday night. That's when she took action: "The dogs are innocent. I mean what are they going to do. They can't even do anything. They can't fight back and if they do they get destroyed."

Minshall and Misty's owner, Jim Miles followed the boys to a nearby house and confronted them: "I talked to them and I said I don't know you guys from the man on the moon I just want to know why did you feel you had to walk up and pick on my dogs?"

Miles tells Action 3 News the boys didn't have an answer for him or the police. Their parents on the other hand had something to say: "She kept telling the boys, she says no, this is not the way you were raised and that's why I don't let you go anywhere or do anything on your own because you can't behave."

Miles shows Action 3 News the stick the boys used to beat his dog: "Luckily it wasn't very big but it could still do some damage if you hit hard enough." Miles says he has a message for anyone else walking by his house: "Just leave them alone. If they're not yours and they're not bothering you just go about your business and leave them alone."

Miles says Misty seems to be okay, but she did have a slight limp.
