Cheney not mentioned on any of the Sunday morning network "news" shows.
Edited on Sun Jun-24-07 10:56 AM by Cyrano
According to Russert, Stephanopolis and Scheiffer, (or their corporate masters), nothing happened this week regarding Dick Cheney. The topics they did cover were immigration and Michael Bloomberg. The fact that Dick Cheney has declared himself answerable to no one, and told us all to go fuck ourselves, evidently didn't happen.

All TVs should come with a warning label that states "This Product Will Rot Your Brain and Steal Your Rights." I remember hearing that Elvis once shot his TV set and I always wondered why. I no longer wonder.

2. I stopped watching many years ago.
ESPN Sports Center has more actual, factual content.

27. ESPN rocks with creativeness
Competitive eating isn't a sport. It's one of the seven deadly sins ESPN recently televised the U.S. Open of Competitive Eating, because watching those athletes at the poker table was just too exciting. What's next, competitive farting? Oh wait. They're already doing that. It's called "The Howard Stern Show."

5. Get rid of cable & satellite: Turn your back on them

It is simple. Get rid of cable/satellite. Write the networks the reason why you are leaving, & then feel the liberation of not having puppets in a little box try to bed your reality. Americans DO have the power. We just won't use it.

10. Did this years ago: told them I wasn't going to PAY TO BE PROPAGANDIZED.
The nice guy on the other end of the line said he understood. I did keep the basics though for local & CSPAN.

15. Unfortunately, they've caught on to that tactic
At least, in my area they have. I like the Sci-Fi channel, but I don't watch the "premium" networks (HBO, Showtime, and Cinemax, yep- all three, keep reading). I'd rather be without those premium networks; I hardly ever turn them on in the first place.

I can't get rid of them, though, if I want to keep watching the Sci-Fi channel without actually raising my rate. To get rid of the "premium" networks, I'd have to dump the whole package and repurchase them seperately. The monthly amount, because I'm not buying a package anymore, would be higher than it is now- I'd literally be paying more for less!

Christ on a pogo stick.

17. Filthy swine. Well, a lot of shows are on itunes now. And there are dvds of some shows.
At least when you buy those directly you are paying for the product and not the propaganda.

6. Its unbelievable, isn't it?
Yet these so-called journalists spent how many hours delving into every little detail about Clinton's affair? I wouldn't believe it myself if I didn't have a front seat in this theater of the absurd.

9. Can you just imagine -
It is 1999 and Al Gore decides/announces he is a sovereign nation?

Actually, this crap could be the thing that draws Gore into the presidential mix.

It is time to call the constitutional crisis a CONSTITUTIONAL CRISIS!

11. Hate Ta Tell Ya This, But... Faux News Had it... Twice !!!
Fox News Sunday

Came up once in the Lott\Feinstein segment, and again during the Round Table.

Sometimes it pays to keep an eye on the enemy.

For instance, I found this at their site:

Power Player of the Week
New York Times columnist
Thomas Friedman is one of
the most influential and
original foreign policy
voices around

Now excuse me while I... :puke::puke::puke:

29. Actually, FNS was pretty good this week.
They had quite a bit about the latest Cheney crime and the Lott/Feinstein interview went well, I thought. And of course it's always good to hear the latest Kristolization of neocon "thought".

12. Does anyone realize that Bush
has done the "me too" thing? He's decided he's the decider, I guess, and he's not going to submit to oversight either.....apparently, his directive was never meant to apply to his own office. That's not stated in the law, by the way.

This all came out late Friday, and the only place I've seen it covered is the Los Angeles Times.

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-cheney23jun23,1,2991960.story

Please note that doesn't mean it hasn't been covered, just that that's the only story I've found so far in the MSM! Well, except for the usual libnet suspects; Common Dreams, Digg, Truthout, and yes, DU.

21. I watched that
and to me...I detected a very mocking incredulous tone from all of them.
They actually called it the Cheney Branch.
They were trying very hard not to laugh at how preposterous it is, but smiling and shaking their heads the entire time.

22. Isn't the internet so much fun?
It's like watching wife beaters attending Sunday church and everyone knows their dark little secret, and they know that you know, but everyone keeps playing this role, just waiting for someone brave enough to jump out of their pew and punch the deadbeat in the face.

perception management tools that they will undoubtedly be studied by future academicians as the most visible examples of manipulation by our corporate masters.

28. I was watching CNN when they had just announced a story about Cheney...
that was coming up, about how he felt his office was not part of the Executive Branch. Then suddenly there was breaking news about the body of the missing pregnant woman being found, and of course that soap opera lasted for hours. How convenient.

I guess it was a gradual process so the actual day we became a dictatorship barely registered.
