CHENEY Has Been & Still Is Systematically Destroying Evidence That Document His Impeachable Offenses

William E. Jackson Jr.| BIO
The Vices of Cheney: Where Impeachment Must Begin

....................

I submit that only a bunch of Congressional fools, who read The Post and The Times and McClatchy wire stories, could have failed over time to notice that the vice president has been, and still is, systematically destroying the evidence -- the paper and electronic trails -- that document his impeachable offenses. That is, dangerous acts that are high crimes against the State and that subvert the Constitution of the United States. And, moreover, that could be used as evidence, after he is removed or leaves office, when he shall "nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law." (Article I, Section 3)

There is a compelling and overriding national interest, if for no other reason than the above, in NOT releasing from a jail sentence, and not excusing with a presidential pardon, live witness Scooter Libby -- the former chief of staff to the vice president known as "Cheney's Cheney."

The subversion of the Republic continues, before our very eyes. What is the House Judiciary Committee under Chairman Conyers prepared to do about it?!

These are very grave matters. It does not take much imagination to draw up articles of impeachment against the vice president of the United States. And let political considerations of timing be damned!

William E. Jackson, Jr.

25. Funny excellent post...Made my day...thanks
Great post!!!
The question is not what Cheney has done to be impeached...but rather what else does he have to do before you do impeach him. I mean besides lying us into a war, treason for outing a CIA operative, obstruction of Justice by refusing oversight of his office, lying and obstruction by operating an illegal wiretapping eavesdropping operation on American citizens, implementing torture, cover up of 9/11 evidence and obstructing the investigations, operating outside of his official duties by loudly clamoring for war with Iran, operating a hidden shadow government, making deals with energy corporations in secret, pushing no bid contracts to Haliburton. All this before investigations even begin.
The dark prince of corporate America thinks he is above the rule of law, that this is "his" country and not ours, and that he has the right to refuse government oversight and accountability.
This time you've gone too far and have challenged the power of congress to hold you accountable and you know what congress is going to do about it. So be afraid, very afraid because this time you're gonna' get it...just as soon as we get the troops out of Iraq, and the immigration bill gets passed...you'll see.

Impeachment? Hell, it would be more realistic to call for congress to assassinate Bush/Cheney than to impeach them. It would probably happen sooner.
If congress does not impeach this administration then they have failed to defend our constitution against domestic enemies and have violated their oath of office. There will never be more compelling reasons to impeach, so if they don't do it now future presidents will know that impeachment will forever be "off the table".

2. Cheney should be locked away in one of his former company's prisons.
For the rest of his life, he's a worthless piece of shit, and this proves it.

26. Yes and btw the Cheney safe was the price of the "Dukester" yacht
Cheney way overpaid and the amount he paid Cunningham turned out to be the exact price of the yacht which he immediately went out and bought at the pre-negotiated price.

4. This activity has to be stopped, and pronto.
With every day more documents are destroyed, and Darth's cone of silence expands.

But then, as "The Other Dick" would have told him, "it's the cover-up where they get you".

5. K&R
Interesting to see where this will end up.

If Conyers is going to do something about it, he'd better make it fast.

This is making the Nixon "18 minutes" scandal look ridiculously amateur.

I'm talking about cover-up on an INDUSTRIAL scale.

29. And no one seems the slightest bit curious over the $12 Billion dollars cold hard CASH
that was sent to Iraq and completely vanished off the face of the earth. Hundred dollar bills in shrink wrapped bundles loaded upon pallets and the loaded on four C-5 Cargo jets (463 tons worth) and sent off to Iraq. Disappeared. No one knows anything...Largest cash heist in American history and no one is the slightest bit curious about it..

8. As I have been saying since this story broke.
The reason to avoid ISOO requirements is so there is no record of what documents existed so that destruction of these documents can be done with relative impunity.

And our opposition party? Will they act NOW?

area to focus on...thats one theory of mine...

They can do only so much until INFORMATION OVERLOAD OCCURS....

But in due time, many of the more important issues will be addressed...and I suspect this is one of them...Conyers and Gang may have been working of this already...and if so...to what degree? And if not....will they change course to jump on this? ya can only do so much given the time frame/manpower/resources....Hopefully, they find time for this one....

edited for spelling

while congress does nothing to halt the destruction of the evidence. Has bushco assembled a file on EVERYONE in congress through the illegal wiretaps and mail inspections so that no one in congress will SERIOUSLY investigate bushco???

17. I agree. The mere act of destroying documents/evidence is a crime in and of itself.
This man should be impeached AND convicted,...should he not? I am not convinced by arguments otherwise.

Dennis Kucinich has already done it, and found some cosponsors for the bill. See here: http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/cheney

22. Crime out in the open - a true sign of evil.
Cheney won't stop, ever. Not until we are so fucked over in a war with Iran and who knows how many others that he will be able to slip away like the fucking pond scum he is or worse - will relish in the public eye over it and tell people to just fuck off, we have worse problems to deal with (that he started).

FBI!? Hahaha. Funny. No one is going to touch this asshole BUT Congress. Goodluck.

It's become clear, through both Washington Post Cheney segments so far (Sunday and Monday) that Ashcroft wasn't a "team player." They needed Bush's Texas pal to cover their butts.

31. The "evidence" includes PEOPLE. Yet impeachment is "off the table"-just like the Weimar Republic
in its final days circa 1933.

Meanwhile, the BFEE SCOTUS is effectively endorsing what amounts to modern versions of the Enabling Acts, but that will all change, we are promised, when someone else is "elected" POTUS in 2008.
