New Arrest in Ohio Pregnant-Woman Case
Published: 6/24/07, 7:46 PM EDT
By JOE MILICIA
CANTON, Ohio (AP) - A former classmate of a man suspected of murdering a pregnant woman was arrested Sunday on a related obstruction of justice charge, the FBI said.

Myisha Ferrell was arrested Saturday night, hours after the body of 26-year-old Jessie Davis was found in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, still carrying her dead, nearly full-term fetus. The Summit County medical examiner on Sunday confirmed the body was Davis'.

Sheriff's deputies and FBI agents arrested Ferrell after breaking down the door of her apartment and searching the home, agent Scott Wilson said.

The Stark County Sheriff's Department refused to discuss the arrest, saying any information made public would hurt their case. Ferrell was to be arraigned Monday, Wilson said.

Davis, of Lake Township near Canton, was reported missing after her mother found Davis' 2-year-old son, Blake, home alone, with bedroom furniture toppled and bleach spilled on the floor. Blake gave investigators some of their first clues, saying: "Mommy was crying. Mommy broke the table. Mommy's in rug."

I suspect that Blake had a few things to tell the cops about "daddy," too.

As far as anyone knows, (Davis' mother Patty Porter) was the last person Davis talked to before she went missing...Davis said her son's father, Canton police officer Bobby Cutts Jr., was going to pick up Blake that night...

...Cutts said Davis was supposed to bring Blake to him Thursday morning, and that he tried to call her when she didn't arrive...

(Porter) didn't hear from her daughter on Thursday, which...was unusual, but Blake was supposed to be with his dad...(W)hen Porter couldn't reach her daughter on Friday morning, she grew more worried. Blake usually stayed at her home while Davis worked...

Cutts...who was off-duty (June 13), came into Champs, a bar and restaurant...around 9:30 p.m. and didn’t leave until 12:30 AM...

..A worker at the Champs Sports Bar Grille and Patio (says Cutts) was there...after a softball game he told police he played in. (He) came in with team members...had some cocktails and spoke on his cell phone.

(Cutts) reportedly gave police a time line up to the softball game and trip to the bar, but declined to answer questions on the rest of the evening on the advice of his attorney...

Davis was supposed to drop Blake off Thursday morning, and Cutts simply "tried to call" when she didn't? Then why didn't HE go over to the house, or at the very least, called her mother? If Davis went to work Thursday morning, she MUST have dropped Blake off SOMEWHERE. Why didn't he bother to find out? As both a part-time father and a cop, I imagine his days off to spend with his son are few and far apart. WHY DID HE MAKE OTHER PLANS INSTEAD OF TRYING TO FIND OUT WHERE HIS SON WAS? And could he have hired an accomplice?
