Day Of Silence For Internet Radio, June 26th
Edited on Mon Jun-25-07 04:58 AM by enigmatic
A number of you know I own and operate an Internet Radio station called Radio Enigma, and as one of the thousands of internet radio stations who will likely go off the air due to the new royalty rates due to take effect on July 15, we're taking part in the Day Of Silence on Tuesday 26th:

http://www.kurthanson.com/dos/

Radio Enigma celebrated it's 4th birthday this past March, and we've grown to have listeners all over the world that have been exposed to musical artists (including a number of fellow DUers) that have never had a chance to be played over what's essentially Corporate Radio today. We've tried to fill a niche for those unable to break through to over the air radio, and if the new rates go through, 80 percent of internet radio stations will go out of business.

Please take a second to take a look at the following link:

And read about what's being done to combat this, and send the thousands of internet radio stations out there all the good vibes you can.

Thanks:)

3. I did send an e-mail to both Rep and Sens for my area letting them know
I only get my news from internet radio. Therefore, if they do something worthwhile I will not know about it without my radio!! As a previous thread described a Chris Matthews interview yesterday, I am now totally dependent on DU and internet radio. Even my newspaper editorials have gotten silly. Much luck to youl.
