Americans bring down gas prices by driving less. gas under $3.00 |
|
Keep up the good work America. Unite against the neocon republic party of big oil. Doesn't it feel good to one up Cheney and his oil friends? Gas should be going up but it isn't because we are all cutting back. my grass is long but i think i will wait a few more days before mowing it. i may even buy an electric mower.
The party of big oil should be a major issue in 2008.
We need to unite against the neocons on all fronts.

1. They'll pull the same shit they did in 06 |
|
Gas prices will being to ease down toward election time in 2008, probably getting back down into the 2.30-2.50 range. If the Repubs win, it goes back to 3.00-3.20.

15. That's not what happened here in 2006. |
|
Gas prices went up before the election, then down afterwards. They then started up again early this year until the last couple of weeks.

22. Guess there is a lot of local variability in gas prices. |
|
This site shows that nationally prices declined from the summer of 2006 until the middle of October then leveled off and rose a little until December than fell again (due to the warm early winter?) before taking off again.
I looked at looked at a 4-year graph and it looks like the lows every year are in November and December with the highest prices coming in the summer every year. The decline in price from the summer to mid-October 2006 may have been a repub electoral strategy or it may have been part of a historical cycle or it may have been a little bit of both.

big oil now attributed to Neocons? Big Oil has always been the personification of Corporate Greed. I see no change today. Correct me if I'm wrong but the term Neocon refers to a group of politicians that were original liberal and switched, coming up with new theories on international relations and the rights of the US to strong arm the rest of the world. This group has also come up with some very novel and possibly illegal interpretations of US law in regards to the Executive Branch. They have passed a number of measures that have diminished our rights guaranteed by the constitution.
Big Oil predates them by a long shot. Congress has always played into the hand of Big Oil. They were and may be one of the biggest contributors to Congressional re-election. You want change? We must get corporations out of the back pockets of both parties.

That Darth Cheney invited all the Big Oil execs to the White House for a little get together at which time they determined that we would invade Iraq...
It was the second step in the PNAC gamebook...

13. Yea, my FOX news watching parents were squealing with joy when it went to 2.99 here |
|
I told them to hold off on filling up though because it won't be long at this rate and the oil companies will be paying us to haul the shit away.

maybe supply has increased but the people have control of demand. if we demand less then supply increases and prices fall.

20. Under $3.00 is good???? |
|
I can remember when less than eight years ago, when ANOTHER man was president, gas at $1.30 was considered OUTRAGEOUS. Eight years ago wasn't that long ago, folks. And we're to expect $2.75 to be the norm. :eyes:
