We have three major SUpreme Court decisions, with a couple of more possibly being released, and they all talk about some dead preggers mom.
Which story will have greater, immediate and devastating impact on our nation? Where are the legal scholars who predicted that Roberts would garner 9-0 votes because he was to moderate, smart and convincing? Where are the apologists for the Democrats who kept their effing powder dry?
WHERE IS THE NEWS, dammit?

12. If you don't believe the five supremes are truly conservative |
|
look at these two rulings.
1 - The student was not allowed to have his banner. No matter what their justification, it took away his free speech.
2 - Corporations can post ads saying that a candidate is a big fat liar, is a crook or anything they want in the 30 day grace period before an election.
Now tell me what the difference was...oh yes number one was against a private citizen and number two was for a corporation.

13. You expect too much of them. |

The MSM doesn't serve the public interest, it serves what interests the public. I don't blame them as much as I blame a public that just doesn't care. It goes back to having a "make a profit" goal for news. Used to be the news was a loss for a network that was made up in other areas, now they have to entertain in order to get ratings. If the public cared they wouldn't watch the fluff or would switch to a station that covered it less, but they don't.

I don't know you you mean that -- sincerely or sarcastically -- and I agree with the OP in the basic sentiment that the Commercial News or M$M prefer sensatinalism and "feature" stories over real news and far more important news, but I really do take exception to the way his point was expressed.
So I hope to hell your comment was sincere, not sarcastic.
Whether or not the coverage of this woman and her tragic death should be blanketing our M$M (and it shouldn't), there's no reason to treat the woman herself or her mother quite so dismissively and basically contemptuously.

22. One of the main reasons why I can't wait to move. |
|
There won't be a television. Or a notnewspaper. We'll have our computers, of course. But we'll also have more garden space, no near neighbors, no noise and not near the bullshit we have here.
Even my mom, who's 92, has given up on the MSM. There used to be "truth" in our newspapers, and in our TV news (anyone else remember Walter Cronkite?) - no more. All they are is paid advertising for whatever corporation - and the owner's corporate buddies - owns 'em.
When 7 Alaskan-based soldiers died in a 24-hour period, and our local "news"paper put the story UNDER THE FOLD, I called and cancelled, and spoke directly with the editor responsible for the placement of articles. I know him, he's a musher, and I've supported him as a volunteer and with contributions. He got his ass chewed, and lost a subscriber. I then called the managing editor, a true bitch by the name of Marilyn Romano (don't let her NEAR your town) and told her why I cancelled, that I expected a full refund for papers paid for in advance, and that their phone solicitors had better NOT call my house. Ever.
I can be a bitch, sometimes.
News? Don't count on the norm. Go elsewhere.
