Things are Crook in Tallarook
When one of our (Aussie) more objectionable right-wing nutters thinks yours are worse.

The world according to Bob Katter, MP

MOVE over, Homer, or Bill Bryson, or someone. From his close encounter with a bronze caribou in a Minneapolis gun store to his straight-faced accounts of fleeing "aggressively Muslim" Somali cab drivers in America's Midwest, Queensland MP Bob Katter appears to be auditioning for life as a travel writer after politics.

In a characteristically forthright and idiosyncratic account of a $25,000, taxpayer-funded odyssey through three countries in late 2006-early 2007, the north Queensland-based independent confesses in his report to Parliament that he needed to flee proselytising cabbies.

"Somali refugees ran all the taxis in Minneapolis. I was so disappointed in this service I switched to a more expensive limousine service," Mr Katter says.
