Immigration - did wacko talk radio drive this issue to the fore?
Not long ago, it seems, we didn't hear too, too much about immigration. Sure, it was discussed, but now?....it's the numero uno amongst the wing-nut crowd. Now I understand that these guys always need a bogey man and they have run out of issues. But the effectiveness of the noise machine and the blow back is on great display here. That's all they talk about. And so does CSPAN and the MSM and so on. Sad to see it work so well.....

2. It's not just the right wing noise machine
There are many many DUers with incredibly intense opinions against immigration. It still just shocks me.

9. Of course there are. And none of them have to do with race. They continue to tell me so.

11. I contend that they are lucky that Mexicans are not black.
In that case they would be advocating the deportation of millions of Blacks. We generally show no mercy at DU for those who contend there is no racism in a policy that impacts Blacks disproportionately.

6. I like the new Party name.
It doesn't seem right to label modern day advocates with the "Know Nothing" tag. Using "NeoKnowNothings" makes it seem like a modern political philosophy with obvious historical roots.

Copyright that name before it is too late. ;)

10. The right was running out of Anti-Gay Marriage proposals, apparently.
It's the fringe topics that keep that party alive.
