Karl Rove: “War on terror is a defining factor of this generation,”
People have engaged in acts of terror since we dragged ourselves out of the slime (or got kicked out of the Garden of Eden if you prefer).

How can this "defining factor of this generation" play with anyone who knows the first thing about history?

Is he kidding himself or just us?

Rove's quote is what is wrong with the discourse in this country. How can you have an intelligent policy decision with someone who either believes this or spouts this kind of propaganda?

1. It's true in dreamland.
Terrorism has been here for decades. Ask Europe. BushCo brought it closer to home.

It's time to talk with diplomacy, and get the hell out of the business of other countries. It's time to make amends.

Osama told us why we were being attacked. BushCo never talks about that.

2. Not its not. The defining factors for this generation are the Internet and the spread of Wal Mart
To be quite honest about it.

4. The defining factor
For this generation as well as all generations to come is:

Do we allow a corrupt and criminal government to stand?

3. 100% correct terror is here
and the republicans brought it. They foster it daily. The spin and lie. That's about the only thing they can tell the country to keep them in line. They have done absolutely nothing for this country but ruin it.

5. "The War On"
So far we've had a War On Poverty since the 60s and a War on Drugs since the 70s and last I heard we haven't won either of those wars. And the War On Terror seems to be moving with the same aplomb and success as the others...

8. yep, funny thing how you can't "win" a "war" against a semantic construct, a.k.a.

a shadow on the wall.

I wish people would get over the concept of a "war on" this or that, and start thinking about how to make things better, not worse.

7. That's a stupid statement -- there are MANY defining factorS ...
in every generation. Unless you want to look at things in a one-dimensional way, there can't be just one FACTOR ... There can be one major CHALLENGE, etc., but to use the word "factor" like that just shows that RatBastard isn't the only one in *his* administration mangling the English language (or spouting meaningless gobbledeguck).

9. Yup. And that's why the republican party is slated to become just a regional party for the south.

11. Hey turdblossom! terrorism defines nothing about me.
He's only kidding/fooling the ill informed and thought challenged general public. He's nothing more than a zit on my butt that I should have taken care of a couple of decades ago. It sucks when you let those minor inconveniences become major problems. I hope I'm past that problem!

12. Endless war period will become the defining factor of this generation
and these evil bastards have made it so. Oh, that and global ecological disaster. Karl can't take all the cred on that one though.

13. Yeah, keep projecting, Karl.
Translation: "Damn, I wish a few more of you people would get all riled up about this imbecile's game of peek-a-boo we're trying to inflict on the world."

14. I imagine
history will judge the defining factor of this era as the human population and the accompanying problems that are associated with it and how we did or didn't handle the topic.
